Hello!
Let me start out by saying i'm allergic to wheat. I don't eat pasta, bread or breaded foods often and after losing 40 pounds i've made it a habit to generally avoid starches as well. I've just started using my fitness pal (a wonderful tool!) but i'm going over the amount of protein the site is recommending and not meeting the suggested carb intake. I am still meeting my caloric needs. I suppose I could eat a baked potato every day to up my carbohydrate count but does anyone see a problem occurring if I were to stay the same? If I exercise its generally 20-30 minutes at a moderate pace per day.

don't follow those reccomendations. On my diary I only have protein and fat listed. I don't use it to reach a particular goal of macronutrients. just the minimum requirements of protein and fats. the rest of the calories will be determined based upon my mood.
I don't eat as much bread while I am dieting due to the weakness of the satiation. I consume more fruits with skin still on.
I also eat sweet tarts and I have an alcoholic drink daily.
bottom line. reach your protein which is about 1:1 LBM or you can use .82g per lb of bodyweight. and .35g per lb of fat. rest is up to you.0 -
Nothing wrong with having more protein and less carbs than they suggest. Their carb % is on the high side and protein % on the low side.0
