Burning belly fat help!

So I see all these amazing results with everyone's belly pictures but not too many posted how they did it, so I'm wondering how you all lost that belly fat because that's where I carry most of my fat. I would love to know :)

    A) You cant spot reduce. "Ab" exercises won't make the fat stored in that area go away.

    B) It takes hard work, and eating right.

Build muscle, is what I am told by my trainers. It raises your resting metabolism and burns more fat on a calorie restricted diet. My genetics makes me put all my weight on in the middle too. I look like a crescent roll ;) I have heard that spot reduction doesn't work either (well, it does, but on a microscopic scale--much like mountain building.), so it is just muscle building and calorie restriction, I think. The good news is, that if that is where most of your fat is stored, that is where you will lose the majority of it!!

Nope, that's how you do it. It just takes time. Trust the process and you will get there.
  • If you don't already, keep track of your measurements - arm, thigh, upper waist, belly button, hips... sometimes, you lose in different areas and it doesn't show on a scale. Can be very discouraging if you just rely on weight as an indication of progress.
  • I had a major gut after baby #2 and was running and running to no avail. I started lifting heavy and BAM, my tummy started to shrink.

Here are results in just three weeks: May 4th/May 12th/May 24th. And also, I eat at approximately -20% TDEE, but I'm not a total freak about it. I did have an off week last week with the three day weekend and then we took an overnight trip with some friends... I didn't really pay attention to what I was eating and I definitely notice a difference in my middle!

As heavy as I could... which took about a week of fiddling around. I think I started out at 70lb deadlift, the bar for squats and the bar for bench press. I've gone up a LOT in squat weight (120lbs), and decently with deadlifts (90lbs), bench press is at 65lbs now and is my biggest struggle. I feel like I get stronger every week, and it is really transforming my body.
