Yikes. I really sucked this weekend. Too many errands (sitting in the car) and birthday parties just sitting around. Goal for next weekend will be to at least double my step count. And gonna get back to 10000 today! Have a great week everyone!0 -
I just bought a pedometer and haven't really gotten into the groove with it yet. I burned about 3000 steps not doing anything extra. That's pretty sedentary, isn't it? Will keep an eye on this challenge if that's OK?0

I messed up yesterday. Wasn't pushing self as I planned to do an Insanity workout after date night...but we were too tired! But as a make-up, we are doing 2 Insanity workouts today. Lesson learned - Don't get lazy just because of a planned workout!0 -

I don't work, I don't drive & I have an injury that stops me from sitting down for more than a few mins at a time. All I can do is walk. I make sure that 20,000 is my minimum per day, anything over that is a bonus. It's not that hard though really. I put the wash basket as far away from the washing line as possible (about 200 mtrs) and take ONE item at a time to the line to hang, then walk all the way back, grab one more item & walk to the line...get about 3000-6000 just doing a full load. I take it down the same way. Then I walk to the supermarket, that's a 6.5km round trip...to the closer one. If I go to the further one it can be between 10km round trip or if I take the long way it can be 17km trip. I walked 23km to get mascara, I walked 30km to a Dr appointment & then cause I had an hour in between appointments (for my injury) I did 196 flights of stairs while waiting. I walk ALL the time. I refuse to catch public transport at all & cause I don't drive (none of us do) there is no other choice.
This is of course with my 5 mile walk at home that I make sure I do either 6 or 7 miles a day, or I run 10 - 11 km. So all those steps are part of that as well.
Today I actually went shopping...5km walk. Then my 5mile (6 miles when done) walk at home. Then back to the supermarket 6.5km trip. All on 4 hours sleep last night, I been up since 4am. I currently have32,290 steps & it's only 9:12pm
I actually got told I need professional help because I walk so much :huh:0 -
I do this as many times in a row as I can manage...7 times in a row so far. I want to get to 10.

I edited her DVD because THIS mile is the best mile on it & with hand & ankle weights its an awesome workout. About 2000-3000 steps per mile.0 -

I'm glad to see this challenge. I have been slacking recently. 05/25-06/07=124,154 which sounds ok. However, that's only an average of about 8868 per day. 4 bad days out of 14 can really cost you! My job is a sitting at computer job. I do a lot of that in my home time too. I have to be really mindful of the need to get my steps. I trust the challenge will help me. Better go, need to get walking. ;->0

After last weekend's really sad numbers, made an effort to get moving yesterday even though there was a lot of sitting at kids events. Now just have to make sure I do the same thing today!0
