Hey people,
I'm here to post a bit about my story thus far. I;ve come a long way but still have some things I'd like to accomplish one my health journey. <--- NOT A DIET! or a quick fix. I'd like it to be for the LONG HAUL. Now, I know there will be ups and downs. I've certainly had my fair share. If i counted lb i went up and back down i'm sure i've lost LOTS OF weight.
Thus far I've managed to keep off roughly 36 lbs
Highest weight: 223 lbs
Start weight: 214 lbs
Current weight: 178 lbs
1st Goal weight: 175 lbs
Final Goal weight: 160 lbs
*crud, i can't get it centered/resized* sorry
My routine consisted of a lot of inconsistency but managed to work out for me. My main focus for a long time was to JUST GET MOVING. I would walk in place whenever possible. (Don't worry you'll get over people asking you if you have to go to the bathroom or ask you what the heck are you doing???)
I was lucky enough to be given a FitBit for a bridal shower gift from a fellow MFP'er Tammie Y! She is a great inspiration in and of herself!
Exercise type stuff:
I told myself that getting 10k steps a day 5 days a week was where I was going to start. From there I moved up to 12k a day. I then added in a gym membership and a free trainer consultation. She gave me a run through of some stuff I could do as far as strength training was concerned. ( I never paid for any more session with the trainer I just did my own research on here and some other sites and worked my way through things. ) I was seeing results and was happy with the timeline. Of course I would've liked to have results faster but I was doing it all on my own and that worked for me. I'm on a few challenge teams here on MFP. (Zombie Apocalypse Challenge ( a 9 week challenge) and Team M.O.M (Mind Over Matter) ( an on-going small group of wonderful peoples.)
Food:
I personalized my food diary and settings to meet some of the challenges with the groups. Changing focus from week to week to keep things interesting. Paying attention to WHAT i was eating and HOW I was eating it. Daily calorie goals were 1300-1700 depending on exercise burn, level of hungriness and time. I work 3rd shift and sometimes SLEEP wins over FOOD!
I did notice that when I got MORE and BETTER sleep my weight loss seemed a little easier.
so thats a little bit of my story and hopefully it will continue to be a productive HEALTHY journey!
p.s. some days i counted cals, some days i didn't. Some days I exercised, some days i didn't. But I always kept my goals in mind and have given myself until February to reach my 1st goal weight. So i think I'm in pretty good standings thus far!
Thanks for reading! :drinker:

I'm so happy we "met" during the zombie challenge, and I'm thrilled you joined up with Team M.O.M too!
I'm proud to have you as a friend. Keep up your fantastic work!

thanks so much!
i actually went to the gym today. I've been working crazy hours and lots of overtime so GYM time was just not gonna work. Felt good to get back there. Last night was my first NON-overtime shift in over a month!
So now its time to get back to it! GYM*in it up like before!

Did another comparison. I've managed to get below my original 1st goal weight(175lbs) down to 169lbs but.... I've creeped back up to 175lbs. Sometimes seeing where you used to be is enough motivation to keep you pushing!
Started Insanity on Saturday... and holy moly batman! that is NO JOKE... but I've heard and seen so many positive things from it that I have to at least give it a shot!
* i couldn't figure out how to have the entire picture show... *0 -
