Hi, all! One of my besties suggested this site to me. I was always relatively thin (5'4" and in the low 120s, give or take a few), but when my birth control pill got switched from a brand that adjusted the hormone balance every month to one that's a straight dosage all month, I gained a lot of weight really fast. In about two months, I went from 125 to 140.

I also have hypothyroidism (taking meds for it), so my body's basically screwed up, lol. But I don't want an excuse--I want to get in better shape. I'm switching back to my old brand of BC to see if it helps (I think it will...HOPE it will) and am watching what I eat very, very closely. I've made a promise to myself--no more weight gain. I want to start losing again. I'd like to get down to about 127 or even a little lower...think I can do it?

I'm getting married next November (2011), so I have another incentive to lose the weight and firm up!

    Welcome!! Love your username

And I totally hear ya on the birth control thing :grumble: You just need to find one that your body can agree with. The first one I was on (Aviane) made me gain weight and made me breakout.....the one I'm on now (Loestrin 24 FE) is pretty good, doesn't effect my skin or attitude, and I think it's actually helped with my appetite. Of course different people react in different ways so....good luck working that out!

Anyway, good luck! I bet you'll look stunning for your wedding! :)
  • Good luck! Just keep your eye on the prize...a healthier you and that beautiful wedding dress.
  • Whoa, that was fast! Haha. Thanks for all the support! :)

The one I was on before I got the PP waiver gave me no trouble, and I'd been on it for 6 years, but then it was a HUGE switch. I was on Tri-Sprintect, which was pretty rad...free BC isn't worth this weight gain crap.
