Hello everyone!
I'm new here and to the weightloss world. I am a 22 year old female. I'm 5'10 and weigh in at 145 (in the morning, fluctuates by night time). I want to lose 10 pounds the healthy way. I have just recently started the C25K running program and am on week 2. I have been eating well, however I may be eating to few calories.
Anyways some of the internet calculators told me that my BMR is ~1500 calories and my TDEE is 2325 (does that seem high?..I'm not sure haha)

I've read that a to lose 1 pound you need to create a 3,500 calorie deficit. So if I wanted to lose 1 pound a week i'd have to eat 2325-500 calories a day? If that a safe amount to eat or is it possible to lose 1.5 pounds safely? Is the main idea not to go below your BMR?

Sorry if this is confusing! I tried to research it enough on my own but the more i read the more I got confused. Plus my profile says to eat a little over 1200....that seems WAY to low....?

    Hi!

It's really confusing at first but it gets easier!

First of all, you're already at a healthy weight for your height so congrats! Do you really want to lose 10 lbs or do you want to change the way your body looks?

I would recommend changing your goals to 1. Lightly Active and 2. Lose 0.5lbs/week. Trust me, with such a small amount to lose and being healthy weight-wise, this is going to be your best option. You'll find that eating only ~1200 calories, you're going to be hungry and tired (among other things).

Also, kudos on the cardio. You will definitely need to incorporate strength training, though. If you don't want to go to a gym, YouTube has TONS of great body weight programs. Just find one you like and go for it!

You can add me if you like, I'm your age and I had more to lose than you. I'm only 10 lbs away from goal myself and I eat ~1900 calories a day, no cardio and only weightlifting!
