FitBit vs Jawbone Up

I noticed that FitBit also has a band similar to the Jawbone Up. Has anyone used it? How do they compare? I am looking to get something like that, that I can sync up to MFP and wasn't sure of reviews.

Thanks!!!

    http://www.getgrok.com/2013/01/a-comparative-review-28-days-with-the-fitbit-one-jawbone-up-nike-fuelband-and-bodymedia-link/

This article comparing various fitness trackers favors the Fitbit. However, it was not based on the Flex (wristband model) which is relatively new and has more mixed reviews.

For what it's worth, I have the Fitbit One and I love it!!

I have been using an Up Band for about 6 months, and I absolutely love it! I highly recommend it! My hubby got one too. He had some problems with it not switching into sleep mode, and they immediately sent him a new one before he even sent the old one back. Great service!

I just got a FitBit Flex Monday evening, and so far I really like it.

I haven't had it long enough to give a real review, but I LOVE having tons of data in my face all the time, so it's great for me.

I have it linked up with MFP, so I still log my food here, but I let the FitBit do all of my exercise adjustments for me. Seems to work well so far.

I've been using a FitBit for a few years, so when it finally died, I decided to try other types of products to see if I liked them. I tried the UP band from Jawbone but I didn't like the fact that I couldn't access it through my Android phone (at that time) so there was no way to see where I was step-wise. I also didn't like that I had to plug it into my iPad to get my stats. My old FitBit just worked wirelessly with my computer whenever I came in proximity to the receiver.

I sent the UP back and got a FitBit Flex and I love it! It's water resistant, has a way to monitor how many steps you've walked (by percentage), monitors my sleep patterns, and wakes me up with a gentle vibration alarm. It maintains a charge for about 5 days and has a wireless receiver that reads my information so I don't have to plug it in every time I want data. In addition to all that, it has built in bluetooth and works with my Samsung Galaxy S4 so all my information is right there all the time. I love my Flex!

I have had the Fitbit Ultra for about 1 1/2 years and love it. I wear it on the front of my bra. I have the Fitbit app and the MFP app on my cell phone (Samsung Galaxy SIII). Fitbit now syncs with certain cell phones, including mine. I ordered the new Fitbit Flex and it is due to be delivered on Friday. (They are very backlogged on orders right now apparently.) Ordered on 4/30/13. I am really looking forward to receiving it as the Flex will now sync directly with my phone. I travel a lot and this will be a huge convenience for me. I log all of my calories/food with MFP and then let the Fitbit upload my steps and activity. The two sync together and keep track of calories in vs calories burned.

I have a couple of friends that tried the Jawbone and they weren't too satisfied with it - said it was just too bulky. One traded it for the Fitbit Flex and likes it a lot more since it's more comfortable to wear. I also recently wrote an article for Best Buy on the Flex: http://bestbuymobile.com/2013/05/09/run-on-with-the-fitbit-flex-wristband/. One feature that I especially like about it is that you can even wear it in the shower, so you can really track 24/7.

I've had my FitBit Flex for just about a month now (I got it the day it was released) and I love it. I have it linked to MFP and it automagically calculates everything for me so I no longer have to think about what exercise I've done. I lost 3 pounds last month, when I had it set to lose 1/2 a pound a week.

The only negative I have so far is the charger sometimes doesn't want to connect to the prongs, so I have to wedge a folded piece of paper at the end so there's enough pressure to connect.

Other than that, it's fabulous. My boyfriend just ordered one as well
