Too much sugar?

Options
I have asked similar to this before, but I'm still worried. I go over on the sugar count that I have (set by MFP) quite regularly. I think my diary is open so you can look, but it is set at about half what I calculated when I multipled the amount recommended for someone eating 2000 a day by 17/20 (as I am on 1700 a day). And although I do have a weakness for cake, I can go over on just things like fruit.

Basically, I'm getting a little frustrated as it seems incredibly low and I don't really know what I could do to stay under, or if it is just at a ridiculous standard.

(also yesterday was a bad day if you look)

Finally, is there a way to track more than 5 food types?

Sorry if this is obvious, and thank you.

It is ridiculous. It's set at the recommendation for added sugars.

I took sugar and sodium out so I could track potassium and fiber.

I go over the sugar too so I am doing sugar free coffee creamer but I have been told artificial creamer is just as bad.

Oh, so if it is for added sugar, then fruit etc should not be included?

I do a bootcamp class and our instructor gave us a 7 day slim down plan. In it, it says to lose the most weight, we should be only consuming 15grams of sugar a day or less!! Basically 1 piece of fruit. Its hard but it does make you lose!!
