Help a pale girl get tan

I'm a shade of white that is almost see through. I used a self tanner years ago and was so blotchy and orange I looked ridiculous. I also went to a tanning bed place and did the the spray tan which worked well enough but was too expensive to keep up with. Any good self tanning lotions out there?

OMG. Let me know if you ever find one. Until then I'll stand next to you. My whiteness will make you seem darker.

Jergens now has a scent-free self tanner. Check it out.

From your profile photo I think your light skin tone is beautiful! I would accentuate your positive and leave your coloring be ;)

My pale Irish *kitten* knows two colors, white as snow or beet red. I used to hate being so light but now I fully embrace it. Pass the SPF 100 please!

    No. Fake tan looks ridiculous.

If you can't tan, then don't. You won't fit in with everybody else by painting your body a daft colour, you'll just look like a person covered in fake tan.

Right now I am starting to peel because of a burn I got last week. (Might hav something to do with forgetting to put on sun block!) I do get dreadfully pale lookling in the winter months, but I never tan very much at all. Just enough to get slightly tan look. :) I just let the sun do it's work on it's on. I don't use tan sprays, lotions or tannying beds. So when there is sun and I can get out in it, I work on my tan then.

Jameson has altered our DNA over the centuries? Bleached us? Interesting.

No. This is 2013 not 1999.

Spray tans don't look fake, or orange, or blotchy anymore. My favorite..

It goes on evenly and easily.

I am an irish red-head...so I can relate to your skin color!

What I started doing last summer was laying in the sun for 15 minutes on each side 4 or 5 days per week. It took forever, but I did not burn and eventually looked tan (even if I had to show tan lines to prove it - lol)

This summer I lay out for 20 minutes each side and so far getting tan and no burns. Patience is key - or a self tanner, I guess, but they always make me orange.

Pale Irish girl here. I'm obsessed with sunscreen, yet completely self-conscious about my paleness, so I must self-tan. I go back-and-forth between Jergens and Tan Towels. Most other things make me look like I've just been in a mud run!

^^^ That works for me as well. I can accelerate it if I accidentally burn a little bit one day, then go out and do the 15 minute exposures after.
  • St Tropez tanning foam works wonders I believe.

    I fake and bake sometimes
but recently been embracing the paleness.

BUT I also fake and bake because it really helps me with the "bumps" on my legs..
and no a scrubber does nothing for me.

And still makes everyone using it look like pale people covered in fake tan.

You might think it doesn't look fake, but it is obvious to the rest of the population when it's used.

Mind you, I can also spot false nails, breasts and rhinoplasties easily.

The nearest thing I get to a tan is when the millions of freckles on my face and arms multiply exponentially in sunshine. And I like it that way. I'd rather look speckled than looking like I'm trying to hide my ethnic origin.
