Hello all.
I was wondering if anyone has *cheap days* ?
If so,what is your favorite *cheap* ....
I know many have a time when you treat yourself.
Just for fun.

I do not have cheat days but if I really want something I find a way to work it into my calories. Sometimes it is portion control, other times I find a recipe that will give me the food I want in a low-cal way. This is a forever thing for me - not a diet. If I am going to live like this forever I have to remain satisfied! Good luck!0

Instead of cheating work out for longer to earn extra calories so you can eat food without the guilt. I love this tool because it has allowed me to really see what and how much I am eatting.0

nope, no cheat days here. I don't want to feel as if i'm rewarding my healthy choices, with bad foods. If I want something i'm not supposed to have, I work it into my day. If I was to call it a cheat, it would make me feel guilty, so I try to avoid that :laugh:0

I can't not have a cheat day--I find that since my tastes are geared toward healthy, eating too much "bad" food makes me feel gross, so it's sort of self-regulating even though I don't log what I eat (like now... I had pancakes for breakfast and ramen noodles for lunch, and I'm on starch overload so I can't think of what to eat for dinner...). I admire those who can work out more or make the "bad" stuff fit into the daily goal, but that's just not me.
My favourites are salty things... mostly chips, take-out food, stuff like that. Mmm...0 -
NOPE NONE I HAVE GOOD FOOD DAYS AND GREAT FOOD DAYS. ALL DAYS ARE UNDER CALORIES THOUGH.0

No cheating here either.... I have to work for the indulgences.... I didn't before and that got me to the point of disgust with myself. Excuses and rationalizations are just that..... and they cost me my self-esteem. Never again.0

I've found ways around it, the same as 4lafz -- like if I'm craving chocolate, I make "pudding" (almond milk, dutch cocoa powder, a packet of Sun Crystals, and a bit of cornstarch microwaved till thick, then chilled in the fridge). I get a larger portion for a lot less than if I had a few ounces of regular chocolate.0

Yep. I have cheat days. Once every 2 weeks, I go out with the girls and I drink a little and have whatever I want on the menu. I too, intend for this to be a way of life - not a diet - so I don't have unhealthy things just for the sake of having them and I also find that after making intentionally healthy choices that I don't always want the unhealthy choices when I'm on a "cheat" day0

I allow myself a cheat meal every Saturday. I usually don't log anything in MFP for that day, either. I figure, I am human and I want to have some fun with family. I workout 6 days a week and am extremely diligent with what I put in my mouth the other days.
Besides, Saturdays are pretty busy and hectic, so other than the sodium levels, I'm sure I work off what I cheat with for that one meal.
Not only that, my doctors and others (Family doc, endocrinologist, dietician, etc) have all told me it's ok to live with a cheat day.
This is not a jab at others who don't cheat. I just found what works for me and that's what others have to do. As I've said before...to each their own and trial and error to find what works for yourself.0 -
I used to but it became too hard to get back on track. I like the idea of working extra's into my calories by working out harder, today I am over but I will try to make up for it tomorrow. I like the idea of occasional treats to let your hair down, but I think I'll need to get closer to my goal before I can do it.0

I do not do cheat days because they are really hard to get back on track from. I always make sure I can do the little extras by working out and getting the necessary calories to use for that prior to eating that. God Bless, brenda0

This is the mindset I'm starting to get as well, and it's kept me sane during my vacation so far!0
