Fitbit and logging exercise

I got a fitbit one today and have just started using it. But I'm a bit unsure about what to do about logging exercise. Should I log it in MFP or in the fitbit app? Is there any other tips for how to best use the fitbit along side MFP?

I'd use the Fitbit app because the device knows how vigorously you were exercising vs MFP which uses a blanket rate.

You can also connect your Fitbit & MFP to other apps like Runtastic and Endomondo to help track exercise.
  • i have a Fitbit Zip and it tracks walking and running so I dont need to log those but I do need to log anything that it cannot track such as bikeing,swimming,weights,etc....and log those on MFP.
So just log whatever your Fitbit doesnt track.

    Thanks!

Today I wore my fitbit all day. I did an hour of exercising and went for a walk tonight. Normally I would log the exercise at maybe 4-500 calories, but the walk I would count as normal everyday activity. But the fitbit tells MFP that I have over 900 exercise calories, so now I have over 1000 calories left for today. And I've had breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. So now I'm a bit afraid to eat them back since it's a lot more than I would normally eat for the same amount of activity.

i'm a bit wary of my FitBit Zip. Everytime I golf it records that I walked 8 to 9 miles when I know it should be closer to 5. Its a 7200 yard course and I'm a scratch player so I'm not walking all over the place. 7200 yards = 4miles. Take into account walking green to the next tee and you should come in around 5. Is anyone else seeing this issue? Maybe I have a dud?

just got the fitbit one yesterday. So the plan is to log food in MFP, exercises with the fitbit but I also use MapmyFitness for gps and tracking and heart rate and bike info. So a combo of the 3 should be helpful data to have.
