So tell me if this is right... i do not have a heart rate monitor, so this am while on treadmil after i averaged my pace, i took pulse. It was 27 beats for 15 secounds. So if I take 27 x4= 108 beats per minute. If I put that in the calculator its says at 108 beats per minute at 45 montues i burned 331 calories. Does this seem accurate?

How fast were you going? Incline? How far? Google "treadmill calculator" and use one of those. I always shave 50 or so calories off, just to be safe. Also, for a person weighing around 150 pounds, 100 calories/mile is a fairly standard estimate. For me, when I was around 120 9and even now at 130), it's more like 75-80 calories a mile, with no incline. (according to MFP and SparkPeople, I always get a higher number with the treadmill calculator.)

Thats the reason i am asking. I used this calculator becuase MFP is way off.

I weigh 128 5"2 and going 3.7 MPH. and yes it was on an incline.

I think that's still a bit high. I walked for 55 minutes at 3.5mph (outside, hills, etc) on Tuesday and got 275 calories (per Polar HRM) and I'm 5'7" and 175 pounds so would naturally burn more than someone your size.

I like JenMc14's suggestion of going by 80 calories per mile. As you can see, even I only burned about 90 calories per mile on that one although I typically get closer to 100 per mile as I usually go more like 4 mph but I was with my friend and she wasn't feeling great so we took it easy.

I just realized the calculator was set for male set for female it said 245. :) So that would be about 80 cals per minute. For 15 of those minutes i box with my weights and heart rate jumps to 152 BMP.
