Ok so I think that there is no such thing as a mini goal because each mini goal that I can think of is not just mini it is a HUGE deal!!!! So I have decided that I need to preset my huge goals.

HG 1- Under 200 lbs by 8/26/10

HG 2- BMI considered over weight and not obese (190) by 10/1/10

HG 3- Prepregnacy weight (180) by 11/8/10

HG 4- Wedding dress weight (170) 12/13/10

HG 5- Highschool weight (160) 2/14/11

GOAL- 150 by 4/23/11

Post your HG's so you can share your goals with the world. Be proud and know that THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A MINI GOAL EACH AND EVERY GOAL IS A HUGE GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, every goal is major but the reason they are small goals is not to become overwhelmed by the final goal. If someone had said you have to lose 148 pounds in this length of time it would have blown my mind. Yet, by setting the smaller goals and doing non food rewards as each was met it was not overwhelming. Non food rewards can be anything you enjoy such as relaxing day at the park or a bubble bath and soft lights and music, reading that book you had been wanting to but never having the time, if money is not a problem that shirt or dress you had been wanting, pedicure or manicure, having hair done, like I said anyting that makes you feel good and you enjoy, spending time with that special someone but never having a chance. When I said mini goals I was not trying to make anyone feel that all goals were not major because they are it is just easier to reach the goals if they are not all one. I am sorry if anyone took what I said wrong I am truly sorry that was not my intent. Please accept my apology. God Bless, brenda
  • I agree Brenda :)
Im also giving up cigarettes and if I focus on never ever ever having a relationship with my little friend of 36 years, I literally grieve as if I had lost a best friend. However each day I set a new goal to not visit that "friend" again today and each day I see more and more that my "little buddy" was actually an enemy! If that makes sense at all...i just have to do little mini 24 hr goals every day. I know this is about weight loss and not smoking but same rule applies :)

My mini goals are really just reaching each new tens place (170s, 160s, ect.), and each new multiple of five when it comes to weight lost (20 lbs lost, 25 lbs lost, etc.). I don't really reward myself for the five pounds lost, but reaching that new tens place is cause for celebration. I'm hoping to get to the next tens place by the end of this upcoming week.
  • Hi, I am new here :) I also try to set "mini" goals, which seem huge at times. Right now, these are my goals. The first is a bit bigger than the rest, but oh well! I figure if I can get there...I can do the rest!

#1-Lose 10% of my body weight by December 1st. (I hope to do it a lot sooner, but if lose 1.5 pounds a week...it should take 16 weeks).

    #2-Get below 200 by February 1, 2011.

#3-Lose another 10% of my body weight by April 1, 2011. At that point, I should be at 180 and have 25 pounds left to get to my overall goal.

#4-Hit my goal weight by the start of the 2011-2012 school year (late-August).

I am learning to take things slow. I get so frustrated if I don't drop the weight fast, and then I end up completely blowing things. I know I can do this over the next year!
