PCOS BUDDIES! and everybody else

Hey Girls! I'm 20- almost 21 and was diagnosed with PCOS when i was 16.
For the last 5 years PCOS has ruled my life and I am ready to beat this once and for all.
I have tried many times unsuccessfully to lose weight and start exercising regularly. And each time I get ahead I always seem to fall back into my old ways.

I am looking for a PCOS buddy or anybody else with a significant amount of weight to lose (20+ Kgs i think that is like 45 pounds?) I have about 25-30kg (55-66 pounds) to reach my goal weight. I think I need a bit more than MFP friends as although the ones I have are great and supportive I need someone I can share the struggles and even have a friendly competition with every once in a while.

So if your goals are similar to mine and you think you can help me out (i'll help you out too) add me and email me.

I'm a New Zealander too if that helps :)

Hi! Well I don't have PCOS, but I have GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder)...so I know what it's like to live with an 'invisible' disorder...people never realize what we're going through. For me, I'm 28 yrs old and have 50 more lbs to lose...I already lost 33! :-) That being said, I believe that I can offer some advice/motivation/support to others..but I still need some myself!

** Anyone feel free to add me. ** I'm pretty new here, but I'm loving this site!

I was diagnosed in 2007 with pcos. feel free to add me. Some tips would be to watch your carb intake and sugar intake because of the insulin resistance that comes with pcos. Be active.

hey! i have PCOS too! i was diagnosed with atypical pcos relatively late in the game, just last year, despite the fact that i'm 28 and have two kids.

drink lots of water. it helps battle the bloat that i get constantly.
talk to your doctor about aldactone. it's a diuretic, but the off label use? to slow hirtuism and help with acne.
i still get really bad cysts despite the depo shot i'm on (my reproductive endocrinologist took me off estrogen bc of migraines and increased risk of stroke), but i find that if i can just walk the days that i have pain, that shortens my downtime.

    add me if you want!
