I am so confused every bmr calculator gives me a different bmr every time. . To try and work this out. .. If I take my bmr as 1600 and I am on a 1200 calorie diet does that mean I need to burn 400 cals to be able to still lose. .Any advice would be most appreciated. ..

no if your bmr is 1600 you need to eat at least 1600 calories a day. Therefore, 1200 is not enough for you.0

Eating 1200 gives you a 400 deficit from your BMR and at least 720 from your TDEE.
You put "lose 2 lbs/week" I guess - try re-running it with 1 lb/week.
Extra exercise is not required, in fact MFP cancels it out by giving you more food.0 -
As trudijoy said. Go to scoobysworkshop.com and use his calories calculator. It's really good.0

nope. forget the 1200. Change your MFP goal to a number somewhat higher - TDEE - 20% or so. Then don't eat back exercise cals. OR change it to your BMR and log your exercise cals and eat some back.
1200 is 75% of your body's needs. You will make yourself unwell on 12000 -
All the measurements you get online are estimates based on averages not calculating in your potential individual specific traits. If you want more accurate estimate, you could see a nutritionist who could most probably give you a more accurate estimate. I did this in my fitness club with a personal advisor but to be perfectly honest, the expert estimate was not much different from what I get from most online BMR calculators. Just make sure you know these are really estimates and not scientifically accurate measurements.0
