Hey yall,

My name's Amanda, and I'm pretty ****ing awesome. I have lofty goals of becoming a successful herpetologist and truly contributing to the scientific advancement of my awesome and highly overlooked field....

Anyway, I'm starting the final stretch of my B.S. in Environmental Science. I am currently interested in ecological dynamics, but I am even more hellbent on land rehabilitation because of the unique area where I live. I live in the Lower Rio Grande Valley, aka, the cheapest city in the USA (Harlingen, TX). Cheap? No, we're either rich or poor. I'm a student, ergo I'm poor.

I grew up a privileged american life... exactly what my family wanted, but I can't be happy without giving back to my community.

Sometimes I just want to scream out at everyone, because people here don't care about the same issues that I care about.

Seriously, where did all the good people go?

    It must be, because family still does not matter. Faith still does not matter to you.


    That is why they made you gain all the weight that you lost.


    That is why they never buy you a car (VCU - Richmond, VA) - remember?

    Always remember VCU and StMU. Familial pressure all the time.



    Just learn to say, "**** all you guys (FAMILY)."
