Stuck! Need ideas.

Hello everyone. I have lost 13 pounds so far and I am stuck at the 200 pound mark. I was 3 to 4 miles everyday. Have done Zumba but it is not good for my joints. Anything else that I can do to pump up my workout so that I can continue to lose weight? I am still watching what I am eating but have stayed on the 200 mark now for 2 weeks. I am getting a bit frustrated.

Thanks in advance.

Your diet will be 90% of your weight loss so I'd focus there more than worrying about different or more exercise.
  • I love yoga for the low impact stress on the joints and keeps u limber for those other activities!

Hi Congrats on your journey! Have you considered weight lifting/ body weight workouts/ strength training? Muscle requires more energy and burns more calories than fat. Building muscle boosts your metabolism too. there are a lot of misconceptions of women who lift weights, especially the one that women bulk up. Its not true. anyway, good luck! -Iree

    Ways to beat a plateau:

Add more variety in your workouts. Your body has more than likely become used to your workouts. Maybe try something new, like boxing, riding a bike, yoga, water aerobics, etc. Branch out with your workouts!

You may be doing too much and your body can't comprehend what it is happening, so try doing less.

Also, try changing your caloric intake. You could be eating too little/much, so try looking up your BMR. If you're eating right, sometimes eating 50-100 more one day, and then 50-100 less the next can help shock your body.

    Hope this helps! :)

I have joint problems. I get my exercise through hiking and biking. I try to hike at least a mile a day, and on the weekends I aim for 4 miles. Start slow and build up. I also love to bike. I started out doing just a little mile, and now I can comfortably ride 25 miles at a time. The only thing with biking is that it is zero impact, and you ned a little to keep your bones strong. Other than that, focus on the calories....and potion sizes. A potion of anything is no bigger than a deck of cards. Got it? (Keep it SIMPLE!)
