Found this thing on my phone last week. I tried fatsecret too, but it's only advantage was a bar code scanner, so I think I will stick with this one.
I was in shape once, Via Boxing, and Various forms of MA training. In 1999 I was beaten, kicked, and stabbed several times, which took me out of work, and any kind of training for over a year. I gained a lot of weight in that period.
As I was starting to get back in shape a couple years later, I was in a car accident that did some permanent damage at L3 and L4.
To top that off, I fell down some stairs at work which set me back in my recovery attempt. After that I just stopped trying (shrug)
Since I have an aversion to drugs in general, I never developed an addiction to pain meds, much less a reliance on them like so many in my situation have done, so I wont be using that as a crutch.
Pain is a factor for me even now. But the main problem is two fold.
1. I never adjusted my food/calorie intake for my reduced activity level. I continued to eat the same amount of food without the extreme level of exercise to back it up.
2. I got lazy. No excuses here, even with the pain I still could have compensated for it by adjusting the forms of exercise and activity I typically used.
Even with the physical component, the game remains in your head.

Welcome! I just joined too. This does seem to be a great place to not only help you keep track of calories and weight lost but also for support.
I gained a huge chunk of my weight because of medical reasons too, but then afterward I got lazy too. Lol. That's okay though. Today is a new day and we can do this! ^.^0 -
I can so relate, I too was in shape once. Then because of medical reasons and being in constant pain quit exercising, got lazy and used food for comfort. But we can do this, no more excuses. Maybe we cant do intense exercise but we can do more then we have been. It is time0
