Finally introducing myself :)

Hi everyone,

I haven't posted before but I think it's time to introduce myself - I have been on the MFP journey since 13th of March.

I want to loose exactly 50kg (~110lb) to get into healthy weight range (with a couple of kg to "play with" :) ) and I know it's going to be a long rocky road ahead. However, after some experimenting and a few goal adjustments to accommodate my personal circumstances, I have been very happy with the results so far and I have a feeling that I've finally found *the* way to go for me, especially because the MFP system allows me to eat what I want, really, without depriving myself. I believe that will be the big difference in helping me into a long term life style change rather than a 'weight loss quick fix'.

A bit about myself, I just turned 50 on Sunday (9 June), I have health issues that make exercising/being active in any way frequently a bit difficult, not to mention that I'm on limited low impact because of a permanent ankle injury, I'm also on a very tight budget, so things like gym etc are out, but I did get some exercise DVDs (Ball Yoga, Ball Pilates, Tai Chi, and just recently a resistance band + DVD) which I've been doing as much as my health allows, and I've also started to do some walking as often as my ankle will "play"

Happy to be here and I just wanted to say HI for now

PS: I don't know what's happened with my ticker, I did try to recreate it but it's still just an empty "pic not found" kinda box

So, as of my last weigh in on Sunday, June 9, I lost 11.4kg (~25lb) since 13 March 2013

Welcome! I've been here about a week...and I'm LOVING it! I've recently lost 35 lbs and have 50-ish more to go...so I feel I can offer support, but I still need some myself! :-)

For me, a little activity, moderation in eating, consumption of (a lot of) water and eating breakfast has been successful for me! And that's no easy task since I live with an anxiety disorder...Oh well, I'm managing!

Anyone - Feel free to add me! We're all in this together!

Welcome! I am also new to MFP. I have been a member for 2 weeks now. I am very impressed with the site. I haven't had much time to get on the message boards but I think they will be most helpful.
  • Hello, that's great progress, I myself just turned 50' and I've lost about 17 since April...good luck on the rest of your journey! ????

Thank you for your welcome

(Oh, and please excuse any spelling/grammar errors. Although I've lived in Australia for over 20 years it's not my mother language as I'm German born and bred  )

You are not alone with the anxiety disorder either, depression/nxiety disorder with severe social phobias have been a major part of my long term health issues, in fact, I was completely house bound for over 7 years because of it until I managed to finally get myself out of the house at least for basic essential stuff (well, most of the time). We can do this and beat the anxiety disorder in the process!!!
