Do you count calories on your birthday???

Its my 21st birthday and I was determined to stick to my 1500 calories until I came home and saw every kind of cake you could think of ! Surrounded with other snack that I loveee :(

Dont know what to do...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! enjoy your day to the full, even if it does mean having some extra cake. If you feel bad, do a bit of extra exercise or eat a little less tomorrow - but don't worry today! :drinker:
  • I didn't but the next day i got right back on track. :) Enjoy your bday to the fullest you got the rest of the year to do good on your calorie counting.

Count? Yep. Restrict? Nope. I went over on my birthday, logged the overage, and got right back at it the next day with no regrets.

Enjoy your birthday. Try to view the bigger picture and not get wrapped up in the minutia of one day.

Generally not, which can spell D-I-S-A-S-T-E-R!! However, just MAKE SURE you get back on track the day after...or not more than 3 days total of slacking!

No. Nor did I count calories on Christmas, my husband's birthday, my son's birthday, while camping, Thanksgiving, on vacation, and sometimes "Saturday."

And that's probably why yesterday was my 720th consecutive MFP log-on and I've lost more than 130 pounds, maintaining for 9 months so far. I give myself breaks, but 95% of the time I log. I cannot imagine trying to limit myself to 1500 calories on my birthday; sounds more like a diet than a healthy and sustainable life.

It's only one day.... enjoy! You may add some water weight but that will go quickly. Just don't get on the scale the next day and freak out... so many people do that. :)
