What is BUMP?

Whenever I'm reading the posts on MFP and someone replies, "BUMP", what does that mean and how do I do it?

    It's something you type if you want to be able to find that thread again from your profile page.

    Bump is simply a post to bring a thread back to the top of the list. You are "bumping" the thread back up. Bump means you aren't really adding anything but bumping the topic back up so more people will see it.
