LOVE! The books were amazing and I am pissed that I have to wait a couple years for the next one. The show is great and does a pretty good job sticking with the books except for a few things, especially about the Red Wedding.

I love Hodor. And the show. Minus the Red Wedding :( What'd you think of the season finale?

I did hear the Red Wedding was quite different in the books. But this is one reason why I haven't read the books. I DON'T want to know what is going to happen! lol I enjoy the mystery of the show and not knowing what is going to happen. I do plan to read the books...eventually.

I just finished season 1 and am finally reading the first book. The violence and gore is a little much in the show, but great story and amazing acting!

Hooked on the show and starting the first book today. The Red Wedding definitely shocked me. I am surprised they didn't save that for the finale. I'm rooting for Kahleesi though!

I thought it was underwhelming too. I was so amped up after the last episode, that I was just disappointed.

I just started reading the first book. It's a little slow moving, but I'm not sure if that's just because I don't really read these kinds of books usually, or because I know what's coming.

Still can't believe the events of Red Wedding ..... The north will never forget.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this show, refuse to read the books though, don't want to spoil it for myself =)

I need to rewatch seasons 1 and 2. It finally took until season 3 before I could watch a whole episode and finally think "I know who these people are and what their sub-arc is about." The first 2 seasons were basically me watching a scene and saying one of "hey there's Peter Dinklage", or "there's tv's Sarah Conner", or "there's the dude from Stargate Atlantis with his dragon lady wife" or more likely, the default "who's that dude with the scruffy beard full of angst?"

This was a fantastic season. I would read the books but I don't think my attention span, which has been devastated by decades of video games and tv, can deal with those big volumes.

I had a lot of trouble getting into it before I watched the show because he's very slow getting to the point. Now that I've watcched, the book is easier and really good.

Double agree. Bronn's the best. And seriously underwhelming finale. I was waiting for the big cliffhanger ending and got crowdsurfing instead.

Book one is just the opening game. He's setting the stage, hang in there, it'll get crazy soon enough.

The books became increasingly annoying as they tried to do too much. I'm pretty sure I enjoyed each book less than the one prior to it (I have the latest book, but still haven't bothered reading it for that reason). The show's been fantastic, probably because it has to cut a lot of the fat.

I loved the books! As for the tv show, season 1 = awesome, season 2 = ok, and season 3 = lost my interest!.

I read the first one and am part way through the second, not sure if I can continue, so many new characters and still not over the death of the major character in the first one. Also by accident I hit book 4 on my kindle where there was a summary of the families and I didn't like what I read happened to the family I like most. Is it really worth continuing?
Sorry for speaking in code but I don't want to spoil things for new fans.
