1 mile a day challenge

So I was just reading about a "1 mile a day" challenge. The challenge is to run (or walk) just one mile a day for 30 days straight. I don't think it's a lot. I need to get back to exercising and I think this will get me in the habit of moving everyday. It's just one mile or 1.6 kilometres. It won't take a lot of time (<15 minutes), but it will make a difference. Thirty days is going to go by anyway and 31 days from now I want to try a new challenge. Basically I don't want to be HERE in 30 days, I want to be better. The challenge starts tomorrow. Does anyone want to join me?

    Ok I will give it a whirl. Don't forget to come in and post each day when you have your 1 mile in so it bumps to the top of your list!

    Then we will get more people jumping on board too!

    I think I am going to start this: I will also add my time. My goal is to improve my running pace and my mile time. Right now I'm at around a 15-17min mile.

    I wish I could join this but with surgery this Friday & not being able to exercise for approximately 8 weeks, :grumble: , I wouldn't be able to contribute much.

    I just recently started running a couple of months ago, wanted to see if I could run a mile and I did. 15 minutes. I'm down to about a 12 minute mile now. Today I run to the gym (about .4 miles) workout & walk back but tomorrow & Thursday I will be running my mile on my treadmill. Hope to see this thread so I remember to post.

    Good luck on this challenge... have fun becoming more active. :happy:

    I also do the Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds videos! Love them. In the past 2 months I have already trimmed 3 inches from my waist and 7 inches from my hips! :)

    Sounds like an easy challenge even for beginners with results that will be easily visible. I'm in... I've walked my mile (and then some) today. :happy:

    I'm in! 4.05 miles today!
    I don't do this much each day but I'll definitely do at least 1 each day! which 3o days from now i'm having foot surgery so it'll be good to do this much until I'm on the couch for a month

    I'm in! I do a few km per day, and this morning I biked 7 km to work. Another 7 to get me home.

    I actually started this about a week ago. I have an hour long lunch at work so I eat my lunch then take a 1 mile walk. Later in the day I then go for an intense work out at the gym. If I end up not going to the gym I still feel like I did a little something. Everyone should do this!!!!!!!
