Does anyone have any reviews on the Runtastic app? I'm looking for something to better track my running distances.

Hi there. Yes, I'm using it only the last week, and I'm very happy with the app.
It shows me everything I want to know, like distance, time, speed and a map of my route. Yesterday I went out with my rollerskates, and I just changed the setting from 'run' to 'skating'. Easy as that. Lots of activities in there.
I'm going to buy the PRO version, because I want to run with a Heart Rate Monitor.
Also it puts in the results of my session in MFP, so I can see immediatly what is the effect on my daily calorie-intake. Great app!!0 -
I have been using runtastic pro for a few month together with a heart rate monitor.
It serves me well and I'm a very happy user. The only thing comes into my mind is that the run results shown on website are a little different than those on the phone. Maybe they use different algorithms to do calculation? I just stick to the results on my phone.
You can just use the free version if you don't need heart rate tracking.0 -
I've been using it for a few months now, and really like it. It is easy to use and keeps track of what I want. I use it mostly for running and walking but have also used it for biking. I have the free version but am thinking about upgrading to the pro so that I can hear the miles as I run along with my pace for that mile.0

I just recently got a smart-device, so I went through and tried a number of running apps and Runtastic was the one I liked best, as far as functionality and stats. (There are apps I didn't try, of course, and I can't remember all the ones I did, but I consistently found myself thinking "Runtastic did this better..." or "Runtastic had this feature, and [whatever] doesn't.") I have the free version because I haven't found myself needing the pro features.
So my vote is that I like it!0 -
How accurate is the heart rate monitor in the Pro version? And how does that work exactly?
Do you need the Pro version to link to MFP?0 -
You need to buy a compatible heart rate sensor and wear it with you to detect your heart rate. I use Zephyr HxM Bluetooth.
runtastic will then show your heart rate & heart rate zone (based on your maximum heart rate).
It's useful for me as I can run at a target heart rate zone/range. Or I know i'm running too hard if my heart rate is pumped up too high.
I believe the free will link to MFP too.0 -
