I am begging for some help! Please take a look at my diary and tell me what I am doing wrong....I am 34, weigh 165 and am 5'7. I exercise 5 days a week quite vigorously for at least an hour a day but I don't log it because I am trying to figure out my true calorie intake. No matter what I do, I cannot lose weight. I am so frustrated. Any advice to share would be most appreciated, please keep in mind I am a vegetarian. I don't want to be a super model just 155..., thanks fellow fitness pal friends.

Are you eating the same amt of calories every day...try adding 200-300 calories every other day t help keep your metabolism guessing. Drink lots of water..I mean lots of water, that really helped me over the hump last week. Are you building more muscle and it is heavier than fat so you will not drop pounds for a while but will tone up and lose inches!
Hang in there you WILL lose that ten pounds it may just take a bit longer then you anticipate.0 -
Your diary isn't public. My suggestion without seeing anything else: If you're using MFP as your calorie goal log and eat your exercise calories. That's how it's set up. By not eating at least a portion of those back your deficit can get too large and (odd as it sounds) you may not lose.
Edit: After peeking at a few entries I'll stand by the above. If you consider your calorie goal and then subtract however much you're burning you'll see what you're actually netting.0 -
Thanks! I love your screen name by the way. I will try doing that. I do lift weights but my clothes don't seem to be fitting any better. I am really trying. I will beef up the water intake.0

You aren't logging consistently. What are you eating on days you aren't logging?0

Really the sample old boring stuff. I am a mom and work like a crazy person so the days I am not logging are just due to the fact I am super busy or on the road. Thanks for checking out my diary, any suggestions?0

Overall it looks ok, but if your not tracking and weighing all your food everyday you could be eating a lot more than you think you are.
Maybe try pre-planning your days before bed after your kids go to sleep so you are alwasy tracking, then make sure your weigh and measure everything you eat.0 -
May I ask how long you've been exercising and logging? I have found that I don't really start to lose weight until 2-3 months of steady, consistent dietary changes. I am a terrible binge-eater so I don't log my binges, which I should, but if those quanities are anything like mine (PACKAGES of cookies and thousands of calories) then it will keep you from losing weight. One way I have curbed this out of control eating is a) acknowledged that I have a problem with it b) removed most troublesome foods c) identified triggers: boredom, stress, anger d) stocked up on alternative foods: berries, sweet potatoes.
I also chew a lot of gum and eat peppermint Altoids. The peppermint acts a sort of appetite suppressant; it's a nature flavor diversion! And I have also found that when I am think I am hungry, often I am just thirsty. I agree with a previous post: water, water, water!
I applaud your efforts. It is very hard to not give up and not give in. Keep going, you will get there!0
