Question about curl enhancers?

So I've discovered since moving to the East Coast that my hair is naturally wavy (at least in humidity).

I'd like to encourage this since my hair (usually) is STICK straight...

Anybody know of any good hair products that enhance curl (and actually WORK)? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Organix- Smooth Hydration Argan Oil & Shea Butter Curl Enhancing Yogurt

Ouidad- Moisture Lock Define &Shine Curl Styling Gel-Cream

Blow Pro- Wave Maker Light Twisting Lotion

All of these products are good, I'm not sure if you have an Ulta near you...but that's where you can get them.

I've never tried any of the above (in coliemarieale's post) but the concept behind most of them is sound - for good curl, you want lots of moisture.

I have curly hair and have tried many different products. In my experience, for shampoo & concitioner there's not really that much difference between salon and drug store stuff. My favorite is Herbal Essence's Hello Hydration. Works great and smells really good too.

For leave in products, I use Redken. On humid days, I put in Sheer Straight 06 while my hair is still damp. This product was developed for straightening it also works for curls because you want to define the curl and keep the frizzies away. And every day I use Rough Paste 12 (texture product, like hair mud) which also helps define the curl and has great hold.

    Have fun!
  • It all depends on you. Some people don't like silicones in their hair care products, and some have awesome results with silicones. My curls and coils get grumpy when I use stuff with silicones. Maybe you should check out the forums at naturallylycurly.com ?

Thanks for the great info, all.

I'll look into it. My hair is usually like a swamp monster if I don't do anything to it (from Montana originally and the air out there is super dry so my hair would get fuzzy and straight)...since moving out to the Mid Atlantic, my hair has started to curl and I very much want to encourage that.

    Thanks again!
