Progress From Past 2 Summers (Pics)

My first time doing this...
So, although I just started getting serious again about losing weight almost a month ago now (starting May 19th) and have lost around 12lbs. during that time, I'm not yet ready to post those before/after pics just yet.
But! To encourage myself to keep on pushing and see where I've been in the deeper past, I checked out my weight last summer and the summer before last, pulled up the pics that coincided with those same times, threw on some of those outfits yesterday, and took a few pics to compare then and now. Not a huge difference, but something. Gotta be something -- it's 20lbs. less! lol
I know I didn't get all of the poses and angles just right, but I tried for what I could remember
July 2011 vs. Now (June 2013)
********
May 2012 vs. Now (June 2013)
Note: In a lot of my older pics, I often tended to suck my stomach in, especially when standing up. And so, in both this "before" and "after", for comparison sake, I did that in both. But here is me yesterday in this bathing suit with my stomach not sucked in:

I can tell because I see it in your face and your neck and shoulders. I wear those same type of dresses in the summer and I inherited my mothers shoulders and when I lose weight I can always tell around my neck and shoulder area. Good job! Keep going. I am almost at my 30 pound mark that puts me at 219. Would like to lose 30 more.0

Thanks so much, everyone!
Doing this definitely helps hold me accountable, knowing I'd like for my "after" pics to be even better and more noticeable next time.I can tell because I see it in your face and your neck and shoulders. Omg yes, I tend to underestimate that whole area -- my shoulders and neck particularly -- when I think about which areas I really most need to lose weight (even though, technically, I really need to lose weight all over, lol), and I do believe I get a lot of that from my mom's side as well. Are you lifting weights? Your shoulders are so much more defined and bustline elevated!
Thanks! And yes, I am lifting weights. I've been mostly lifting every other day since I last started three weeks ago with two 20lb. dumbbells I have at home. And then I started 30DS on Monday and have been using two 5lb. dumbbells for that. Not a big change? Have you looked at those pictures? Seriously, your'e doing great and look amazing. Keep up ithe good work!!!
Thank you so much. What's crazy is that whenever I look at other folks' progress and success pics up here and they preface 'em with "I don't see any difference" or "I know it's not much, but..." I'm always like WHAAAAAAAAAAT?!?!? ARE YOU CRAAAAAAAAZY!?!? Like, for real -- the "before/after" differences of others seem so obvious, and I just always think that those people posting are either being waaayyyy too hard on themselves and not giving themselves enough credit or maybe that they're just saying that to fish for more outside approval, lol..but NOW I CAN RELATE!
The more I look at mine, though, the more I do see differences. I guess I just focus too much on my stomach, which probably shows the least visible amount of change (and I know a lotta folks say that that's always the last to go anyway), and maybe that's a big reason why a lot of other people always feel they don't see much difference in their pics (while literally everyone else does, lol). I had initially mostly noticed the difference in my arms, but I'm now seeing it in all of the places everyone else here has mentioned as well. It definitely helps to see that the hard work and commitment is paying off. I look forward to seeing my next major set maybe in another few weeks or so!0 -

Great job! I noticed the change in your arms first, since that is my main problem area, but I do notice a change in your stomach too, so don't worry! You've found what works for you, keep it up!
I think I'm going to try your idea of pulling out the same outfits from my before pics to make a good comparison.0 -

Yes, it is wonderful. A great motivator and I would think the best way to compare yourself then and now, in my opinion -- I'm surprised more people don't do it!
And thanks, everyone else Found out this morning that one of my pair of skinny jeans is now too baggy to wear, and another pair is baggy-ish, lol.. So, it's coming along!0 -
Nice shoulder's and arms! I'm working on my arms right now so I'm jealous.0
