I am insulin resistant and want to incorporate regular cinnamon. Any suggestions?

A typical day for me is
breakfast....either almond butter on ezekiel bread or eggs with sauteed spinach and breakfast meat
Lunch...salad with grilled chicken
snack blueberry greek yogurt with pecans
Dinner...meat and veggies or high protein smoothie

I like cinnamon mixed into vanilla or honey vanilla yogurt. Add the fruit of your choice. If you use non-fat green yogurt you will be getting a good bit of protein. My breakfast today was Oikos non-fat vanilla yogurt with cinnamon, topped with a half cup of strawberries. I sprinkled 1/4 cup of Kashi Go Lean Crunch cereal on top. If you eat gluten free, you could always top with chopped nuts.

I love to slice up apples, put them in a ziploc bag, and sprinkle them liberally with cinnamon, shake it up to coat them well. A little intense maybe on the cinnamon taste but very yummy.

    Seinfeld had an idea...

"Cinnamon. It should be on tables in restaurants along with salt and pepper. Anytime someone says, "Ooh, this is so good - what's in this?" the answer invariably comes back, "cinnamon." Cinnamon. Again and again."

Tea, cream of wheat, yogurt, oatmeal - basically everything I think it might taste good on - raw fruit too.

However I hope you are not eating the same meals everyday. Your body gets used to that and you may plateau!
Also, make sure you are getting enough calories.

    Nuff said

I just like the flavor of cinnamon -- I put in in my oatmeal, in my spiced tea, on apple slices (which I then bake in the toaster oven), sweet potatoes, on whole wheat toast with a little butter and real sugar. With a little maple syrup on pancakes is awesome!!

Not an oatmeal fan but most am I have Ezekiel toast with raw almond butter....would cinnamon taste good with that?? I never would have thought of that.

Will be doing the apple in the microwave tomorrow at work around 2ish when I am craving sweets.

Please explain the water with apples

In coffee, in the grounds before brewing.

    Meat rubs and curry powders.

Dash it with nutmeg on broccoli and brussels sprouts.

It mixes well into nut butters.

    Pancakes

    Tea

    Milk

On top of vanilla ice cream

    Into protein shakes

    Into morning yogurt

    Onto sliced raw apples

Experiment with it. It's a lot more versatile than you'd think.
