Small Success is Stilll a Success

I really wanted to jump on the scale today and see what it said. Yep I wanted to know if my hour of exercising last night was worth the effort on the scale. But I do this all the time. I want the weight to fly off. I want to wake up and ask "Where did my *kitten* go?" Now I need to wake up and set myself up for success. No disappointment! No Failure!

So after I walked by the scale today - I proceeded to have an excellent day. I went with a co-worker to one of my favorite lunch spots. I usually get high calorie low nutrition food. Guess what? I walked in and the counter gal asked if I was getting my usual. I proudly said not today! I ate my left overs that I made from dinner the night before. Not the best choice that I could have made for lunch but it was healthier than what I would have ate at the café. I had veggies. It did not cost me anymore money.

I then worked out after work. I worked out for a hour in the pool. It felt a lot longer than the hour I did yesterday. I did a lot of arm exercises. I looked up some exercises today that included tying a noodle on each leg. That was awkward having those big noodles on my legs. But they did add some friction to the work out.

I walk back and forth to my car to work everyday. It is almost a half mile. I don't walk fast because I am in "work" clothes. But should I be counting that as exercise? I have a desk job. I do try to take a stroll around the floor every hour to hour and a half. I don't count that as exercise. But a half mile at a time may count. Just would like some input.

So tomorrow is a celebration at work. Cake and junk. I am thinking ahead. I made Mango "Ice Cream" with my YoNana's machine. I can partake in the party with my own sweet treat. If you don't know what is a YoNana's machine is...you should really check it out. A great way to get a cold sweet that is 100% frozen fruit - of your choice. My new favorite.

So tomorrow is day 3. We may have rain tomorrow night. I will need to think of a way to get a hour worth of exercise in. I have a few videos and some equipment in the basement that have been collecting dust for years. Time to start finding exercises I love. Any suggestions???

  • Well it sounds like you are doing great so far! I think you should count walking to and from your car, because those half miles will start to add up. And yay for YoNana!! It seems like no one knows what that is, but I am absolutely in LOVE with it!! As for working out... personally, I love to run in the rain. There's just something so freeing and refreshing about it. But that's just me. If you don't want to brave the deluge, try doing circuit training stuff with jumping jacks or even just running back and forth across your living room! You can also do some strengthening exercises and use your machines. And the workout videos sound like a good idea. Good luck, and stay motivated!
