How quickly can you run a Km?

Was just wondering how long it takes for you guys to run a Kilometre?
Not necessarily looking for athletes opinions (although that is welcomed), but more just your average dieter like myself trying to improve their fitness :)
Thanks.

I'm doing things in miles (due to being English!), but something like:

    Short run (about a mile) 7:00-7:20 minutes/mile

    Medium run (3-5 miles) 7:20-7:40 minutes/mile

    Longer run (6 miles +) 8:00-8:20 minutes/mile

Depends on my route (Lot of big hills in my area) and the weather (coastal - so can get pretty windy). I don't really track all that jazz anymore. I tend to get out for one run a week, so I may have slipped from these times a tad in the last year.....

I run longer distances (usually 5 miles or more) and Endomondo (great app for tracking) says my best k time is 5:44. If I were just running one I could probably get closer to 5 minutes. I run a lot, but my times are not competitive.

I average 6 minutes a kilometer but it has taken me weeks of getting into shape to get there.

    my fastest 1km is 4.16

On average on my fast runs are about 4:50 min pace

On longer runs my pace is anywhere from about 5:10 to 5:45 min pace.

I'm pretty "average." I'm not fast, that is. :)

I can do one km in about 5:30. That is, like, fall down and gasp at the end of it pace.
I can do ten in about 65 minutes, so 6:30 each. Same thing, really exhausted at the end.
If I'm running for "pleasure" then I usually go about 7 minutes per km.

I'm a very infrequent runner due to damaged knees but I'm trying to do 3K in 15 minutes, current best 15:21.
(I couldn't carry on this pace for 5k though!)

Would guess that 1k would be about 4:40 to 4:50?

I'm not sure for 1km because I've never actually set a time on 1km...(I will try out of interest)
On good days I can run a 26min 5km on that I've worked out my pace to be about 5min 20 per km but I'd sincerely hope that I'd run significantly faster than that pace on just one km!
Saying that I run for pleasure and general fitness over competing and do most of my plodding about at is at 6.3/4 mpa (10.2/3 kph)

My 5K PR is 19:18, so probably around 3:40 for a 1000m race.

4:13 is my fastest Km so far. But a more typical tempo run would be around 5 min/Km.
