    Hello, I'm new, but not new. I did this group a while back, but fell off the wagon and stopped coming to the website. Well, I'm back and ready.

    I am 31 and married for 10 yrs. I have 2 girls (9 & 7). I live in SC and have been here most of my life. I'm also the daughter of Chipper, (HEY MOMMY!).

    AFM: I have been on program and doing great for 3 weeks now. Today however, I feel very sick, so I ate some ice cream which I have been omiting out of my diet to incorporate more protein. So, I'm hoping to feel better soon.

    Anyways, nice to meet all of ya'll, and here we go!!!!!

    Wow great to see all the new faces. Welcome!!

    Today was a great day for me and food. Ate good overall and still enjoyed my burger tonight. could of had something more diet friendly. I stayed under my calorie which is good, but I am still about 100 over what I want to be eating. Who knew corn had so many calorie....

    Anyways I have a much improved mood from this morning and am hoping to continue this into tomorrow.

    Well off to relax and bed, see you all in the morning.

    Wow! So many new faces.... Good luck to everyone. My GD just left. She is sooo cute. 20 mths old. School is always stressful at the beginning but I hope it levels out soon. I get really bummed out because my foot still hurts and I don't seem to be able to work out like I need to. Well I am exhausted and am off to bed. Nite everyone

    i have a busy morning so just popping in to say hi. appt. at 9 and the store and home to make cupcakes for bible study tonight. i will fit in a workout of some sort. maybe while my soap is on. yea, that's a good idea.

    Cathy - are you using applesauce in place of the oil in the cupcakes? I just started doing that with my zucchini bread this summer, and I really can't tell any difference.

    Welcome to all the new gals!

    I joined MFP about 7 weeks ago to lose weight. I just found out I'm also 7 weeks pregnant. Since I got the good news, I've changed my goals to "maintain" my weight and MFP upped my calories to 1,740 calories per day. After 7 weeks (and 9 pounds lost) of sticking pretty diligently to the 1,200 calories per day, I'm finding it EXTREMELY hard to eat that many calories! Especially if I exercise (which is what I want to do throughout my pregnancy). I do need more calcium in my diet. Maybe I need to have ice cream for snack each night...

    Today's Plan
    B: Kashi Go Lean Crisp, skim milk, banana
    S: Kashi Pumpkin Spice Flax granola bar
    L: Turkey, cheese, tomato, lettuce, and mustard on wheat bread, cottage cheese, black bean & jalapeno tortilla chips
    S: Oikos Caramel yogurt
    D: Homemade chicken caesar salads, steamed green beans
    S: Ice Cream???

    Workout
    Took the dog for a 26 minute walk this morning (71 calories). Planning on doing a 3-mile run at the gym this afternoon, and probably another dog walk tonight.

    Thanks for taking 'newbies!' I've been at this since August 2 and this past week my weight's been fluctuating like crazy! Still trying to figure out what's the right mix of calories, exercise and all that for my body! Looking forward to this!

    AFM:
    I am 25, soon to be 26 inOctober. Not married and no kids....yet! I do have a "son," my black Lab and he is awesome. I initally went down to 144 from 162 a few months back but since have gained 10lbs. I want to lose at least the ten lbs I gained back for this challenge.

    Day two 8-18-10 Menu

    Meal 1 - .5 cup vanilla yogurt - 1 medium pear 8:30am
    Meal 2 - small salad w 2 tbs vidialia onion dressing 11:30am
    Meal 3 - salmon or chicken parm (leftovers) 2:30pm
    Meal 4 - dirty rice (no beef) w grilled squash 5:30pm

    No meals after 6:30pm until 6:30pm tomorow....we'll see how that works. My first fast day YIKES!

    How is everyone else planning their meals? I am new to both calorie count and meal planning but so far so good.

    Morning sixers. :flowerforyou: so (this stinks / may be TMI ...) but I think that all of the stress i am under has finally caught up with me... i have been feeling a bit sick for the past couple days and woke up this am with a horrible rash and pain on my rib cage (left side)... a good friend of mine had shingles about 3 months ago... and i am quite sure i have it... :noway: i kind of thought you only got it when you were much older... but i guess stress can also play a major role :grumble: stinks... i need to go to the doc. :indifferent: :grumble:

    Kiely - I hope it is not shingles and just stress - good luck at the doctors
    Lindsey - I found during my pregnancy that adding more milk, if you like it can help. Also go up to 2% if you drink skim that seemed to help with both calories and calcium for myself.

    Christine - Welcome hope you love this group as I do!

    Cathy - I hope you have a succesful day and the new listing does well.

    Lorna- great to see you on here, and I am sure we will have much success this week.

    Megan - welcom aboard, hope you enjoy this challenge

    Sandy - sounds like a busy and stressful week, I hope next week settles down and your foot starts to feel better soon.

    Brittany - welcome! I found that if I put all my meals in at the start of the day and make adjustments that I do better. Plus protein and fiber in the late afternoon seem to help me from snacking in the evening. Good Luck

    Not a lot going on today, it is raining out, so will have to change plans today. Me and dd were going to the park, but may go to the childrens museum instead. I think that sounds like a better idea. I am hoping to get the motivation to do a work out today, may put in the walking dvd while dd is napping today.

    Plus we have the whole and night to ourself, DH has his mens night at the golf course tonight if it clears up, so I think it is leftovers for dinner.

    It's definitely a learning process. After a couple weeks, you'll know how many calories are in all of your favorite foods/meals, so that really helps out.

    Also, have you tried the Recipe tool? AWESOME! You can put in each of the ingredients in your recipe, and MFP will add up and divide everything based on the number of servings you put in there. I've added several of my homemade things in there and it's so interesting to see how many calories are in them.

    No I haven't used that yet, but I also haven't really "cooked" either. So far I have been sticking to simple things, which I am sure will get very tiresome very quickly. I am anxious to try out my shrimp pasta recipe to see how mach fat is in it. I'm sure it is a lot because of the half and half that's in it. Thanks for the tip. I am in love with this site already. Now only if i can find one that helps you find the one and get married...:sad:

    Hello everyone! Just wanted to drop in and tell you a bit about myself quick. I have been married for 2 years on Sept 6 to a wonderful man. We have one little boy who is about to turn one on September 22! :) We live in WI - Yay Go Packers! :P

    In the past I have always been a yo-yo dieter, trying a bunch of different things like Carb-counting, Atkins, etc. I lost weight before my wedding by joining Curves. I never ever tried something so simple as counting calories. I love this site! I have lost all my pregnancy weight, and am almost down to what i weighed at my wedding...but am shooting for a little more than that. If all goes well, by the end of this challenge I will be 10 pounds away from my goal! :) I have also completely changed my eating habits - I no longer feel that I am a yo-yo dieter. I make healthy choices, I do splurge or "go on vacation" from my dieting once in a while, but I always go back to watching what I eat. I use my son as complete inspiration, because I want to teach him how to reach for healthy treats rather than the chips, cookies and soda. What better way to do that then by example, right?

    My goals for this challenge are to stay at 1200 calories a day, exercise 1.5 hours every day (1 hr cardio, 1/2 hr strength training), and hopefully make some friends! Nice to meet all of you! :D

    Just a quick pop-in.

    I have my 5-week assessment with the trainer tomorrow. I am going in before my exercise class to try out that darn machine again. Then I have my final assessment after the class. Also, she is going to find someone to do the caliper for the body fat testing too. Of course, it's my TOM (waiting, waiting, waiting) so I'm not optimistic, but we will see.

    That's why I love this challenge. Every six weeks, it's a chance to reset...So this is me resetting.

    Going to be spending the afternoon by the pool with kids after business meeting this morning. Then this weekend, me and girlfriend just heading to the beach for fun in the sun and no kids. Can't wait.
