Ideas for Raw Food Snack Bars?

I would like to incorporate more raw "recipes" into my diet. We primarily eat homemade food, but I'd like to see an uptick in the amount of completely unprocessed, even by me, food I'm eating. Any ideas or recipes for how to make myself a raw food snack bar? I'm looking for something with some protein to help me stay full for a while, but that still tastes really good.

I like Raw Revolution bars, but they are pricey.

I don't get the raw thing, and I don't know what the rules are, but there are a bunch of larabar type recipes where you basically food process dates, almonds (or some other nut) and add whatever else to that. Something like http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2011/08/12/hot-fudge-brownie-larabars/

There are a lot of recipes out there for Larabars. The majority of the recipes involve dates, some sort of nut(s) and other fruit(s). So far my partner and I have made the banana bread, blueberry muffin, and apple pie versions. We've even came up with a few of our own. We made some with coconut and they tasted like the Girl Scout's Samoa cookies.

You can find tons more on Google.

While I know it's not a bar type snack, we also recently roasted some almonds in a tbs. of honey and some cinnamon (not sure how much of that, maybe to taste?). They taste like the Golden Crisp and Sugar Smacks cereals, which was a pretty awesome surprise.

I'm not on an actual raw diet or anything, I just like the way the bars taste - without added sugars and glazes or ridiculous "yogurt" added in. Most granola/snack bars are way oversweetened, but I like the way the raw bars are sweet without being overpowering. That's kind of what I'm looking for, above all.

Ashlee & Award30, thanks for the links! This will help me make my grocery list up for next week :)

I am in love with raw food snack bars or "superfood balls" as they are sometimes called because all they contain are wholesome natural ingredients with healthy fats and sugars to give you great energy. This is my favorite recipe:

    1/2 cup raw almonds
    1/2 cup raw pumpkin seeds
    1/2 cup raw sunflower seeds
1/4 cup unsweetened organic shredded coconut
3 tablespoons organic ground flaxseeds or chia seeds
3 tablespoons natural cocoa powder or raw cacao powder
8 soft pitted medjool dates or 1 cup of other mixed dried fruit preferrably soaked to soften
dash of cinnamon, cayenne, and or vanilla bean powder (optional)
    water as needed

In a food processor combine the almonds, seeds, cocoa powder, coconut shreds, and optional add-ins until fine crumbs.then add in the pitted dates or other dried fruit and process again until the mixture comes together. If the mixture seems too dry add in a tablespoon of water and process again until it is soft and sticks when pressed together. Press the mixture into a pan lined with parchment and refrigerate for 2 hours or freeze for half an hour until firm then cut into desired pieces and enjoy! You can also simply roll them into balls and store in the fridge. These are very nutrient dense and a delicious alternative to other protein bars that use unnatural sugars and added oils. Enjoy!
