It's way of saving the thread to "my topics" when you don't actually have anything to say. Kind of like "i want to save this for later/reference/etc"

Happens a lot with recipe threads.

It's a way of putting the topic back to the top of the forum list.
Some people have said it means "bring up my post," meaning to bring up the post back to the top of the list.
But really, it just means bumping the topic back up the list :p

    Bump. :P

It's to get your thread to the top of the forum list. Sometimes people will say 'shameless bump' or 'sorry, just wanted to bump this' or 'one last bump'.

Occasionally someone who wants to help answer the question in the thread will come along and bump it when they realise they don't have the answer.
