Hi I am about to start the P90x this week.

I have a heavy resistance band and also a lighter one. Is there anything else I would need for the videos?

Plus what is the best order to do them in?

Thanks

Sam

There should be a guide that tells you the workout order, if you just have the DVD's the classic P90X goes like:

Day 3 - Shoulders, biceps and triceps, and Ab ripper X
    Day 4 - Yoga X
Day 5 - Legs and Back, and Ab ripper X
    Day 6 - Kempo X
    Day 7 - Rest or X Stretch
    Week 4 (Rest Week)
    Day 1- Yoga X
    Day 2 - Core Synergistics
    Day 3 - kempo X
    Day 4 -X Stretch
    Day 5 -Core Synergistics
    Day 6 -Yoga X
    Day 7 -Rest or X-Stretch
    Weeks 5-7
Day 1 - Chest, Shoulder and triceps, and Ab ripper X
    Day 2 - Plyometrics
Day 3 - Back and Biceps, and Ab ripper X
    Day 4 - Yoga X
Day 5 - Legs and Back, and Ab ripper X
    Day 6 -kempo X
    Day 7 - Rest or Stretch X
    Week 8 (repeat week 4)
    Weeks 9 and 11 repeat week 1
    Weeks 10 and 12 repeat week 2

    Hope this helps.

You also need a Heart Rate Monitor. A yoga Mat and block. A killer go-to attitude helps too.

    Pullup bar.

I started yesterday and they do have options for the band if you don't have a pull up bar. (as long as your band can be mounted.. mine can be attached by closing it in a door).
I need to get a HR monitor though...
  • I was thinking about trying this out as well. I heard it really works but that you have to hold off on the alchohol and maintain a strict diet. Is that true or just a myth? I'm a college student and ND football is about to start so I was just curious!

you definately want a yoga mat...you do get on the floor for the ab video 3 days a week and for yoga. the pull up bar is not required..my husband uses one while i use the resistance band. you should get some hand weights....id say 10lbs and up depending on what you are comfortable with. walmart.com sells a set that goes to 40lbs and its only $36 and free shipping.

good luck! its a huge commitment! i just finished week 3

    1. you don't need pull up bar.
2: don't you have the whole informational box or did you get it bootleg?
    3. the entire packet will tell you the order of the dvd's for each day and each week.

I just started p90x this week. I don't have bands, but I have weights. So far it has been tough! I know it will get easier as I get stronger and more use to the moves. Good Luck!

Only do the program when you're serious and committed.

You'll also need a good amount of space with a high ceiling. The plyometrics has a lot of jumping and moving around. Good luck! I loved it!
