Sugars?

I'm going over my sugars daily because of the natural sugars in fruit (I like fruit & trying to lose weight by eating more instead of other crap) , is there any difference in what kind of sugar I eat? I know eating an orange is better than eating a Jo Louis bun but what about the sugars? It's kind of disappointing to see a negative sign on the sugars all the time. Will eating too much fruit be bad?

Unless you have a medical reason to worry about sugar intake, I would say that as long as you are not exceeding your goals for calories and carbs to not worry about it at all. If your weight loss stalls, that could be something to look at, but if all else is good keep eating that fruit!

    Stop tracking sugar.

    Problem solved.

    (Yes, seriously.)
  • I don't track sugar. I track fiber. I think that is more important.

Ok, so as long as they're good natural sugars I shouldn't worry too much? I've just always heard that too much fruit could be damaging to weight loss. :/ I know vegetables are a better option but I just can't bring myself to eat them, although I keep trying. & no, no medical reason to watch my sugars.

Too much anything can be damaging to your weight loss. Enjoy the fruit, count the calories, meet your goals, celebrate! (Do try to eat some veggies though!)

I swapped sugars for fiber in my food diary. Hopefully this will make me feel better about eating fruits and encourage me to eat more veggies. Thanks for your help everyone.

When I had a significant amount of weight to lose, I found that I benefited from removing both refined and natural sugars/carbs, and focused on eating more cruciferous vegetables. Occasionally I'll have some fruit as a treat.

That's what worked for me, at least.

Is this a good natural sugar or a bad sugar?
