Hi I am new to MFP. I've always used Loseit and wanted to try something new. Anyways, I was wondering why we don't get any "calories burned" when we do strength exercises? on loseit, i did. I am confused. any help is appreciated. thank you!

It's my understanding there is not an accurate way to capture them because weight lifting exercises create a burn that last well after your lifting session is over.
If you are looking for a general idea here's a link to the math I use to get a VERY BASIC idea of what I burned while lifting only.

I eat back my exercise calories which is why I wanted a general idea. I do not limit myself as much on lifting days. If I am hungry I eat. I just eat a smart choice instead of snacking on chips or something.0 -
Too many factors from person to person.
Intensity,sets,reps,weight.
Id assume if you're actually lifting real weight for 30-45 minutes
At least 200-300. Idk0 -
Okay thanks for your help. I just trying to set a goal for myself as to how many calories i'd like to burn a day. Then I realized on this app there wasn't a calorie count for my weight lifting. i guess i'll just not count it against my food intake.0

use the cardio exercise "strength training". It logs me (207lbs) at about 150 cals for a 30 min SL5x5 workout.0
