Non-Banana Smoothies?

Anyone have any ideas for some healthy smoothies that don't involve bananas? Almost everything I see involves a banana and I'm not really a fan of bananas, and my creativity is lax as of late. Any suggestions would be helpful!

    carrot ginger smoothie
    blend in this order

    1/2 cup coconut milk
    1 cup water
start the blender this will stop it from jamming, add
raw peeled ginger to taste I use about a nickel size slice
big carrot raw unpeeled cut in pieces
    1/2 cup coconut flaked
    1/2 tsp local raw honey
fiber powder ( I have sugar free orange)
    squirt of lime juice
    pinch salt
    ice cubes

I have added cpl tbsp. of crushed pineapple too!

in winter instead of lime/coconut, I switch to 1/4- 1/2 cup pure pumpkin (canned) and pumpkin spice

seriously. stopped needing coffee in the morning when I have this. if you use fiber powder don't forget to drink lots of water!

I had a great green smoothie for breakfast yesterday:

    1 cup coconut milk
    1 cup kale
    1 kiwi, peeled
    1 cup frozen strawberries
a few frozen blueberries (maybe 5 of them?)
    handful of ice cubes
  • Oooh these sound great! Any more?

I made a smoothie the other day that was really good!

    Apricots - Frozen, Unsweetened, 97g (I froze them myself) =grabbed a handful
Oranges - Raw, navels, 148g =1 medium orange peeled
    Spinach - Raw, 24g =grabbed a handful
    Strawberries - Frozen, unsweetened, 78g (I froze them myself) =grabbed a handful
Tomatoes - Red, ripe, raw, year round average, 90g =1 roma tomato

It is a horrible looking smoothie (think split pea soup) but tasted phenomenal! I am out of protein powder currently, but would have added it had I had some.

I added the orange first and pureed it to make a juice, then added the spinach and tomato and pureed that. Then I added the frozen apricots and strawberries.

For these exact amounts that I weighed using my kitchen scale, it came out to:
    Calories: 169
    Carbs: 42
    Fat: 0
    Protein: 4
    Sugar: 28
    Fiber: 9

The sugar is high, but there is a lot of fiber to combat that. The only thing I didn't like was that the protein was low, but like I said, I would have added a scoop of vanilla protein powder.

Also this morning, I made a Mojito smoothie that was great. It did have a frozen banana but that could easily be left out.

Bananas - Frozen, Unsweetened, 91 g (small but could easily be taken out)
Apricots - Frozen, Unsweetened, 94 g (frozen myself, handful of quarters)
    Avocados - Raw, 46 g (1/4th avo)
    Great Value - 2 % Milk, 0.57 Cup (240mL)
    Spinach - Raw, 36 g (handful)
Strawberries - Frozen, unsweetened, 79 g (handful slices)
Spices - Spearmint, fresh (mint), 5 g (about 8-10 leaves)
    Lime juice - Raw, 15 g (1 Tbsp)

For these exact amounts that I weighed using my kitchen scale, it came out to:
    Calories: 323
    Carbs: 52
    Fat: 10
    Protein: 10
    Sugar: 30
    Fiber: 11

Without the banana, it would be:
    Calories: 242
    Carbs: 31
    Fat: 10
    Protein: 9
    Sugar: 19
    Fiber: 8

Came across this one the other day while browsing:

    2 cups coconut milk
    1/4 cup coconut oil
    1/4 cup almond butter
    1/2 tsp vanilla
    2 or more egg yolks
    1 cup ice
flavor of choice: 1 TBSP organic cocoa powder, 1/2 cup strawberries, 1 tsp cinnamon, etc)
  • @Suska - Yours sound great!

@anne... The whole egg yolk think freaks me out!!! lol But the rest sounds FAB. :)

I'm saving up for a Ninja... Once I get one I will give some of these a whirl...

    Thanks, all!

It all sounds good except for the ice cream and milk.
