Hi, I'm new to the site and actually found out about it when I downloaded the app for Android OS and found it extremely useful. I love both the app and the site now and have been pretty religious in using it to keep track of my food intake. I stopped smoking over a year and a half ago and found it was time to get the rest of my body in shape and after seeing my mother lose a substantial amount of weight using diet and exercise I want to be able to join in the fun.
Recently she participated in a Quarter Marathon and I was so drawn in that I have started a No Boundries "Couch to 5k" program that will hopefully whip me into shape other than "round". I think one of the greatest draws of this site for me is the challenge to keep my food numbers in the green and give me that little daily goal to keep me on track.

I too found this through downloading an app to my phone. I just began posting, but have been using MFP (shooting for 1200 calories per day) since June 20th. I quickly lost my first 25 pounds, but the last 3 pounds have been much slower. I want to lose at least 30. I am approaching my high school graduation weight of 170.
It's funny to see the reaction from people when they ask what I've done to lose weight and I just tell them "from an app on my phone." If it were only that easy.0
