Mental Trickery - How we unknowingly derail ourselves

I am guilty of this - And i'm certain there are others out there that do also.
This is not about negative self talk, this is about attempted positive self talk and motivation! If you take a moment to listen to your racing mind when you are trying to motivate yourself to kill your next workout of eat better tomorrow listen to the wording of the sentences that you are repeating to yourself. Do they sound anything like this? I will NOT derail myself again! I CAN'T give up on my goals! I will NOT back down! I will NOT make that mistake again! I will NEVER STOP working out and eating well! I HAVE TO work out every day for the next week!
Notice anything in common with all of those attempted motivational lines? They are all based on negative words, no wonder this ends up in a vicious cycle of mistakes! I've done this before and i'm sure we all have. How can our minds take a negative sentence and transform it into a positive outcome? It cannot. Therefore - Next time you're trying to give yourself good self talk and motivate yourself think something like this: I WILL keep going! I HAVE A CHOICE to take the right path! I CAN do anything that i try! I CAN reach my goals! I WILL always CHOOSE to be healthy! I WILL always choose to be fit! I WILL CHOOSE to reach my goal whatever it may be!
Remember your mind is the most powerful thing in your body! Healthy mind, Healthy life.
Have a fantastic day all!

I knew I could be successful when I had been working on my weight for about three months and thought, on a whim, "I could probably do this for the rest of my life." That was a big motivator.0

That's a much better motivational though for you, but next time you could even put the word CAN in there
