Mmm, I love my green tea! For anybody else who has a Keurig (coffee maker), here's what I do:

Make sure all the coffee grounds are out (just do a few empty cycles),
Put your brewer on the "smallest cup" setting
Grab a tea bag - I use my grocery store's brand, or the Tillings ones,
    BREW.
One packet of splenda, stir, toss in an ice cube, stir.

I CAN drink green tea without the sugar, I just prefer it with the sweetener, and the ice cube puts it at the PERFECT temperature for me to drink. I'll usually down it while browsing facebook or something ^_^

Also try Korean roasted corn tea (oksusu cha) or Corn silk tea. Not as bitter as regular leaf teas.

Is the green tea bags you buy at the store just as affective? or should I get green tea that you would get for instance, here in Houston TX we have a Hong Kong Store where they sell the actual green tea leaves.
