I'm so proud of myself.. But I still have some ways to go.

So for pretty much my whole life, I've been "That fat girl," and it's always bothered me. I've always had friends look me in the eye and tell me I wasn't fat - even when I was. I'd tried a few times to work out and lose the weight, but I was so out of shape that honestly working out HURT. It didn't feel good. It wasn't fun.

I graduated from high school in 2011 at about 210-215 lbs (I don't know the exact number - I'd gone to the doctors office sometime that spring and she told me I was 217), and began working at a roller coaster park in the area (ANYBODY KNOW KINGS DOMINION?!). By the end of the summer, I had visibly shrunk, and had lost 10-15 pounds. I remember one of my supervisors late in the season asking me "Have you been working out?" to which I responded "No. I've been working HERE." (and she giggled, I assure you.)

After that, I was really scared that I was just going to regain it all, because of how quickly I lost it over the summer. So for the next year, I worked out occasionally, saw a few gains and losses (never more than about 3 or 4 pounds), and generally maintained. And I was proud of myself for that.

Then, this past fall, I decided I was going to do a program by Beachbody (they make P90X!) called Turbofire. That was in late November, when I still weighed about 200 lbs. I lost about 5 lbs over two months, doing those workouts. It made me happy. Then I decided I would do a mix of workouts - some P90X, some turbofire, some running, etc, and through those... Well.. I'm where I am today. I was brave enough a few weeks ago to buy my first (EVER) bikini, and it's in the pictures at the very bottom. I've never shared these before.

I still have some ways to go - a lot of the chubb around my belly, back, and thighs has got to go. But overall, I'm just so happy with how far I've come... Even if the best accomplishment is that I finally figured out how to take pictures ;)

Edit: had to resize one of the pictures so it would fit in the window. Lol.

    You should be proud...well done!

I think you'll find that with MFP the secret is to be consistent and STAY WITHIN your caloric intake goal. Add as much excercise as you like and log that faithfully...just be sure to eat at least half of those "exercise calories" back that day. Sone would say eat them all back...your choice.

If you will measure your portions rather than guessing and log EVERYTHING that you swallow, you'll be amazed how easily the pounds come off.

Good Luck to you...add me if you wish. :)

I am SO proud of you. Really great progress. You will be my inspiration for the day. We have similar body types and at this stage I'm having trouble imagining true progress, but I can see it in you. Way to go. Keep it up, girl!

I wish you had asked me if you were "fat", I would have said no also just because you had a good shape on your heavier pictures!! People who look like they are NOT fat could very well BE fat. I hate that word but, hey, we all have to deal with the truth, and that's why we are here. You are awesome!!

Wow! Great transformation!! Keep up the hard work!! Somebody once told me that I should take pics from the beginning, and I never did. I wish I would have, because others see my changes more than I do!! I guess it is not too late since I too still have a long way to go! So what is your secret to taking the pics???
