personal trainer costs

I am thinking of joining a 24 hour gym, and hiring a personal trainer to help me and motivate me for a bit. How much is everyone paying for their trainer? I am guessing a 150 a session? Thanks

I think the cost varies a lot, depending where you go. I pay $30 per half hour 2x a week. I know that is a lot more than some pay, but less then some that I've seen. To fit it in my budget I had to give up a few luxury spending items but it was the best decision I made as far as my fitness. I find a lot of value in having a PT, I don't think I would have come as far as I have without one, I need the accountability and direction he gives me.0

$60 per hour session, if you buy them in a bulk (5 or more at a time) there is a discount..0

My Y includes a 6 week program of 30 minutes per week included in regular membership. Then your file is there to use during the week until the next one. You can sign up for another 6 and another 6 and ... but there is usually a 2-3 week backlog and you can't sign up for the next one until done with the current one. So it isn't quite the same as a personal trainer but it is a step in the right direction - some help developing a regimen, instruction on using equipment and follow up to see if you are progressing toward your goal.0

:noway: Woah!!
I'd say the rate is probably $600 -
The breakdown for LA Fitness for us worked out to about 25 bucks a half hour session. HOWEVER - We as yet have only used about a dozen sessions because the trainers there are bullocks.0

Fortunately for me, my trainer has a class at the community college. I pay $143 for 12 sessions 60 min sessions but its a class with 3-5 people in it. Not personal one on one but he gives me a list of things to do and I do it. He is there to ask questions, form check etc though.
He also offers $15 personal hour long sessions in his gym to the students in his class. I see him twice a week that way as well.
Over all on a monthly basis, I pay around $250 but I see the trainer 4 times a week.
CHEAP!!! And he is good which makes it even more worth it.
Look to your community college to see if there are courses there or even look to a smaller (not a chain) gym to see if they have package deals.0 -

Nice! That's a great deal.0 -
I pay $120/month.
Includes one half hour personal training session per week (usually lasts 45 minutes) and 1 hour long functional training class per week (about 5 people in the class)0
