Hi everyone! I am here to renew my "vows". I have NOT been eating right and it really shows in the extra fat on my body and the blow to my health and self-esteem. I really want to get back on track. I was so discouraged after doing everything I was supposed to for 2 weeks and only losing one pound. It sort of sent me into a 2 week binge. I redid my goals to only be 1 pound per week which increases my calories from 1400 something a day to 1900 something a day. That seems like a lot of calories to eat and still lose weight but I have to increase my exercise.
Please tell me that it can be done! I have hope and joy in every area of my life except for this one!
thank you I love this website and all of you on it :)

:flowerforyou: Hey, I'm just like you! You are not alone in this battle. I feel at times like giving up and just live the way I want to, but i cant. Its not healthy physically or mentally. You picked a great site. You will get a lot of advice and realize you mistakes. good luck.

you can totally do it, when you fall off the wagon just dust yourself off and get back on. You have to exercise though!!! I love food, it really is my weakness, so I exercise more so I can eat more.

    Hi,
You can do it. Try not to think of this as a diet, and try not to think of exercise as a chore. I just started yesterday, and after writing down what I ate, I started to get discouraged. Can I live like this I asked. The answer is, I'm going to change what I eat. Instead of a hamburger, I'll have a veggie burger. Instead of icecream, I'll have yougurt. I'm going to do this because its healthy, not because I'm counting calories. Maybe because of these changes my overall health will increase (tri-glycerides, cholesteral etc). The side benefit will be that I'm eating less calories and hopefully losing weight. For exercise, I'm going to be a good dog owner and take my dog for two thirty minute walks every day. Its good for him, and a side benefit is that its good for me. I hope this helps you. I know that for me, I have to make a lifestyle change. Counting calories only will lead to a binge down the road. Take care and good luck.

It sure can be done. As SoupNazi said, most people here are proof for that.

Very often it is not the eating less part that is the hardest but, as you have already experienced, the emotional part. You will find a lot of support here if that happens again.

Good luck and success to you
