Advice for the last stubborn kilos/pounds?

I'm down to a couple of kilos to go to achieve my goal weight (mid healthy BMI range) and things have slowed dramatically. Did anyone else experience this and do you have any advice?

  • I was so excited to see what advice had been given LOL

I am battling with my last 5kgs, but i havent been that good lately! I think we have to work so much harder once you have got to the end which is my downfall.. Sigh.

the less you have to lose, the smaller the deficit you need.... set MFP to lose 0.5lbs and see how you get on for a few weeks.

I recommend cranking up the intensity. I am working on my last 5-10 lbs as well. I have added two high intensity workouts per week.

I have a little over 10 lbs to go to get 5 lbs below my goal weight. Been here before and it takes a long time. I figure it will take me another 2 to 3 months to lose the last 10. This is probably good because it will keep me honest over the summer. I do like my summer cocktails! Just keep pluggng and don't expect to lose much more than 1/2 a pound every 2 or 3 weeks.

I hadn't thought of this and I'm always up for being allowed to eat a little more. Thanks for the suggestion.

I think you could eat a bit more than your goal and then revert back, you know, just to break the routine your body has been used to. Good luck

    ^^^ This.

I got to my goal weight and decided to go to maintenance. I was at 1900 cal / day net which was a 30% deficit to TDEE. Pretty severe cut but it was working. So I added 100 cal each week. I got to 2,200 cal / day net and stopped losing weight. Stayed at the same weight for a few weeks and then started losing again. So I ate more. I kept losing weight. So I ate more. Still losing. I am now netting 2,657 cal / day (3,000 cal / day before exercise). We'll see if that holds me here. My TDEE is supposed to be 2,700 cal / day.

I don't think this will be the case for everyone, but if you are brave enough to give it a go AND give it enough time to be meaningful, maybe it will work.
