I'm at 20 today, so who do I need to beat.....? In a non-aggresive sort of way of course...

But they are the awesomest people on my friends' list...so secretly I don't want them to get a life cuz then they'll go away from here and I'll be bored!0 -

Two of my MFP buds are in the mid 900s.
Last year I was less than two weeks from hitting the 200 day mark and missed a day without realizing it. I was bummed. But then shortly after I found (and saved) the following from a forum posting where someone was complaining about their day counter being set back to zero after missing just one day in a long time:
"Its like perfect attendance. If you miss one day you don't have perfect attendance. Why must everything thats hard to do be made easier?"
That comment totally changed my attitude towards the number of days logged and I turned off the feature within MFP. Since joining MFP in April 2012, I estimate I've skipped no more than 10 days. I've been pretty good about it, but not perfect.
Let the day counter be a very small motivator but don't fixate on it. If you miss a day, don't sweat it. Think of the "reset to zero" more as a cathartic experience.0 -
I am on day 92 and was thinking when I go on vacation I won't have wi-fi so will be offline for a few, so biggie since there are some people with way more!
This reminds me of perfect attendence in school-
My oldest son once went nearly the whole school year with perfect attendence- he would have gotten a limo ride to go out to eat and see a movie with all the other perfect attendence kids but in the second to last week half the school got a horrible stomach bug but it looked like he was not going to get it. A week into it he got so ill he was puking in the hallway on the way to the nurse's office and they sent him home. He was so heartbroken so I took him out myself (no limo). A friend told me she always lets her kids miss a day before Christmas break just so they don't have to deal with the pressure of perfect attendence and sending sick kids to school!0
