Hi ^^,
I dont know why, but MFP is giving me 1200 calories per day (you mad bro?).... is it right???.
I weigh 75 Kg, I'm 22 years old., and my height is 5. 6' = 1.67 cm. My goal is to get to 67 Kg!
Maybe someone has a similar problem.
I will appreciate any kind of help! thank you.
Ps: English is not my native language, I actually live in France.

To have a higher basic calorie limit you need to set a smaller weight loss rate or a higher activity level in the Goals setting stage.
When you record exercise the calories increases pro rata so the 1200 would be 1500 if you did 300 cals of exercise.0 -
I do 40 min of cardio excercise, 3 times per week, and it stills in 1200 calories... i dont get it0
-
How many pounds per week are you set to lose? If it is set to two pounds per week, that is too high for the amount of weight you need to lose. Also, when you log your exercise cals, your NET cals stay the same, of course, but your total cals to consume goes UP by the amount you burned exercising.
So on Saturday June 15 your Daily Goal was 1,709 and you only ate 1,108. You see, you have to eat to your GOAL.0 -
I see the problem...I set 2 Lbs up par week, but I didnt realize that it was to high! ok, so, I have to change it to 1 Lbs per week.
I now understand that my daily income of calories was not good!
Thanks 4 your support and help! ^^
Good luck0 -
you are recording the exercise calories under "Exercise" are you ? that increase the target calories in "Food"0

I actually wanted to have more information according to my age, weight, and similar profiles!0 -
Yeah, I did that!
Then you would have seen that your question was answered.
It's not right per se, but you can modify it if you'd like to. Expanding upon that, modify it if you feel appropriate, then revisit the level decided after taking a couple months worth of data points.
Additionally, 1200 calories probably won't work, judging from the constant stream of 1200 calorie threads, it doesn't work for most people that try it. Some it does work for, but for most, I don't get the idea that it does.0 -
I'm 5' 6 3/4" tall and I'm losing weight very gradually on 1600 calories PLUS exercise calories. 1200 SUCKS. Look for a group on here called "In Place of a Road Map" and check out their information. You can calculate your TDEE and BMR to come up with a more appropriate calorie goal.0

basically to lose what you want to lose in the time it takes it has advised you to eat the lowest it advises anyone. This is not the only answer, this is just one equation (Well technically a Function) out of many, but it would work.0

MFP is a NEAT method calculator...you're not supposed to include exercise in your activity level...just your day to day hum drum. When you exercise, you log it and estimated calorie burned and MFP ups your calorie goal because exercise is extra activity...so you would still net to that 1200 but you'd be grossing probably anywhere between 1500-1600.
Also, my guess is you put in 2 Lbs per week...the faster you want to lose, the lower the calorie goal has to be. Also, 1200 net calories is pretty much for the birds IMHO...most woman can lose just fine and often better when they eat a bit more. My wife lost at a good clip grossing around 1800-2000 (depending on exercise) calories and netting 1500...she's 5'2" and 38 years old.0 -

Hi
Our stats are actually pretty similar (and I'm French too ) and trust me, I've tried 1200 cal per day too and didn't last. I'm eating between 1400 and 1800 in average and I lose just fine.
Enter a desired weight loss of 0.25kg per week (and you'll probably lose more if you're like me) and you'll be fine. Just my 2 cents xx

I've already changed my goal, to 0.25, so now I have 1350 calories per day, (without exercise).

Génial!! je viens de Bretagne.
I'm new on this so, calories, and all that stuff are a little bit difficult, but I'm learning now!
I just changed my weight goal to 0.25 per week, so now I will have more calories!
Merci de ta réponse, thanks!
P.S: est-ce que je peux t'ajouter comme ami?0 -

MFP doesn't give you credit for exercise until you log it. So let's say you eat 1200 and then log 300 in exercise ..... MFP saysyou have 300 calories left to goal. So the 1200 is the "net" number (calories eaten less exercise = net).
By all means bump up your number to 1500 .... you may lose a little slower .... but so what. It's better to pick a goal that you can be consistant with.0
