Hiit on treadmill! Anyone had good results?

Hi everyone!

I've been on this weight journey for a long while now. Stil hav a long way to go. I eat 1500 calories per day and recently started doing hiit on the treadmill. I do 5min warm up den 1 min on 3.6 mph den 1 min on 6 mph for 30 mins increasing the higher speed to 7 mph.

I am desperate to lose the slight hang on my soft stomach and lose the fat on my back. Two places I carry it. I just wanted to know has anyone had any success with hiit? Is it worth doing or not? Will it help me lose the fat I want? Or long runs are better?
