Anyone successfull in losing weight on the SBD, please share your success story?
I did dukan phase one for a week just to curb my sugar cravings and lost a few pounds, but not looking to continue doing Dukan as too strict and I want to lost 10lb over 3 months.
SBD looks my kinds diet but looks too good to be true and think won't lose weight on it, so any success stories would be welcome.

There's me I'm a SBD success x and I'm still going, I hit my original goal a few weeks ago and have moved my goal posts. My journey started last Jan at 77 kg I cal counted lasted a couple of months and then gave up, I came back in September, I knew cal counting didn't work for me, I bought SBD supercharged did phase 1 for 2 weeks (which I found hard but looking back invaluable) and have continued phase 2, I basically eat clean which is what sbd is, and its now my lifestyle, I don't eat processed foods, fast food, white pasta etc, I enjoy a healthy varried diet, my carbs are around 100 - 150, I feel great, very happy with results, add me if you like, good luck on your journey x0

I pretty much eat a south beach diet. It controls my type 1 diabetes and I have Celiac so cutting out the junky carbs is easy for me. I am also a marathon runner and have plenty of energy so don't believe the people who will try to discourage you by saying your energy will be zapped. I don't count calories either and I am just a few pounds from losing my baby weight....and i gained 65 pounds due to some complications. i think it's waaay easier than micro managing your every bite. I do recommend using the food diary at first so you get the feel for things then after a while you will just know what you can have and it's not a big deal.0

Hi !
I tried the South Beach diet about 4/5 years ago and was successful. I've put back on a bit of the weight since from eating out. If I had the time I would try it out again! First phase is tough but a good once you get through it . This was really the only diet I've ever went through with and saw results.0 -
I lost most of my weight on South Beach (and have lost weight on South Beach Diet numerous times).
It can work for you, and I think it is a good balanced diet if you are eating enough calories.0 -
What kind of exercise are you planning to do to go with your diet?
I think you will find that most people here do less diet and more exercise. If you keep an eye on your macros and do some sort of work out, the weight will melt off. I started using MFP on 9/16 and have lost 21 lbs in 63 days. I didn't follow any diet, just logged what I ate and tried to make healthier choices. That and I do some sort of work out 7 days a week. I eat what I like, just in moderation.0 -
I did SBD several years ago and lost 45lbs - fast. However it was not a lifestyle I could maintain forever so I ended up putting the weight back on plus some slowly over a year. I enjoy my carbs too much, if you can live without them then good luck to you on it but is just wasn't for me.0

I did SBD a few years ago and lost 30 lbs in about 6 months. I fell off the wagon and gained back 20 of it. I started again earlier this year, and I'm down about 25 lbs with the help of exercise. It works, as long as you stick to it.0

Thanks Guys! I am planning to start on my physical activity from next week. Hoping to do 45 mins of treadmill during weekdays and 20min of pilates every night.
Also thinking to do Bikram yoga once a week and maybe spinning, I am good at planning just not implementing
My biggest reason for being de-motivated is weight comes off immediately from my face and as it is gaunt enough I am actually scared of losing weight. May sound strange but when I am attempting to lose weight, always get comments about my face0 -
I'm doing sbd. Totally works. I'm down 20 lb in 7 weeks.0

My husband I a type 1 diabetic. I just finished reading the "South Beach Diet" book and was wondering if it helps to drop how much insulin you use. You said you were a marathon runner so I am sure that also lowers your insulin requirements. My husband is 29 years old, 6' 2" and weighs about 195lbs right now. Any advice would be greatly appreciated as his blood sugars always seem to be off. His A1C last time was 8.2%0

I am on week one of Phase 2 of the SBD and so far have really enjoyed it. You have to be wiling to cook and plan ahead but it is a very do-able diet. The first two weeks are very strict but they do a good job in that I no longer have food cravings like I use to have. So far I have lost about nine pounds on the diet which is an awesome jump start to my dedication. The weight loss is supposed to taper after the first two week to about 1-2 lbs a week. Finally, if you are committed it is a feasible long term eating lifestyle.0

Ok, so it's been 7 months since I replied the first time. Since then I have reached my goal weight and have been maintaining for 3 months with no issues. Here's the most important thing I learned along the way -
Diets are temporary, so are the results.
If your "diet" is not a permanent lifestyle change, then you are going to put the weight back on when you end your diet. Weight loss and being fit are not a temporary situation, you have to continue to work at it or the results will go away. You can lose weight following any diet ever created if you are at a net caloric deficit, focus on learning to eat right and you don't have to worry about which diet works or not.0
