Slowly getting away from my diet

Started a path to a healthier life at the end of January. I've lost around 24 pounds and that is way beyond my expectations. My goal was to get fit enough to feel good about myself before I went on vacation. Vacation is only a few weeks away and I have completely gone away from my daily diet. I can't seem to get back on track. Has anyone experienced this problem and what did they do to get back on track?

you can do it! One meal, one day at a time...0

It happens...I just stop messing up...realize that I really do want it. You will get back there when you truely want to.0

I've fallen off the wagon a couple times, usually due to frustration with a plateau. In fact, I'm kinda feeling the urge to give up right now because I am sick of not being able to eat whatever I want, whenever I want. Ideally, I would like to be able to have a nice piece of pie after every meal, cheesesteaks and hoagies for lunch every day, etc. If I could eat whatever I wanted with no consequences, I would probably average about 3,500 calories a day as opposed to the 2,000 I'll eat today. It is what it is though. I'm not going to give up today.0

oh yes. I went into high gear for a vacation. I set myself up to lose 73 pounds in 9 months. Well, I lost 66, pretty darn close. Then after vacation I sort of lost focus and of those 66 pounds I gained back about 20 in 12 months. I am completely refocused now and getting it back off. Believe me it's harder to climb that hill the second time.0

funny you say that, because I am honestly in the same exact situation right now. i leave for the beach in a week and a half, told myself at the beginning of the month i would really crack down and get serious but for some reason keep coming up with every excuse not to. just now i was planning on getting my boyfriend a birthday cake for tonight and went to calculate that into my daily calories. i stopped and reminded myself that just because it was someone elses birthday didn't mean that I had to stuff my face with cake too. also, ive found myself falling back into the trap of just "having a beer" with dinner, with one turning into 3 or 4 and 400+ empty calories. i think it's all about reminding yourself of why youre doing it, like everyone said.
feel free to add me if you want...maybe we can hold each other accountable for the bit of time before our vacations lol0 -
Been there. Just think about WHY you started your journey and what would happen if you didn't get back on track. You have to nip it in the bud before it get's out of hand. Good luck.0

I recently fell off the wagon as well. I gained back about 5 or 6 pounds. But starting today, I'm back at it! Life happens and we can't beat ourselves up over it. We just need to remember why we started and how good it felt to be doing it and get back on. You can do it!0

Always happens to me when I stop logging. Log everything. Get uncomfortable with seeing yourself over your calorie intake.0

I was doing great until the weather warmed up and I started to sit outside, have a glass of wine and voila - this turned into 3-4 and then a binge. Part of May and June have been bad but... I am back on track and will get the 3 lbs I gained off!! We all slip up and just need to re-commit.0

I did it!! I had a great day yesterday and woke up to feel energized. No drinking, no binging and I feel good!!!!0

You have the rest of your life to live, the past is gone. so just begin again. You can live the rest of your life eating bad stuff or good stuff.. its just a choice.. no disaster. Unless you quit... so you may as well choose to go ahead with good choices.
If you choose to go back to your old ways, you can look forward to continuing to be fat the rest of your life.... or you can start again and choose to be healthier.0 -
I am back on track today! Thanks for all your comments. All it took was a little motivation from you guys! You all are great. Best of luck on all your journeys to a healthier life style!0
