It's not real. Google it and read the interviews with ex-BL people- they use very unsafe practices and create eating disorders.0

Well, they have a few things that are making them look good on the scale...
Extreme dehydration
Over-exercising
Strict diets
Jillian Michaels screaming in their ear
Plus there's the whole 1 week on the TV show may be more like 10 days to two weeks in real life.0 -
I know I felt like that too but realized that they have a trainer helping them out and I think if you have someone monitoring all you eat and how much of a workout your getting it has to be easier. I have made my three teenage daughters promise me that if I am in the kitchen after 8pm and looking through the fridge to knock it off...if I don't want to go to the gym they remind me that it's good for me lol...so I kind of have my own three trainers:)
I've lost 17 lbs so far but it has been so going but I just try to stay motivated...hang in there.0 -
definitely NOT jealous of them at all.. you will feel differently when you read this:

They should be jealous of you because you only have 27 lbs to lose. Sure big losses are great, but not having that kind of weight to lose in the first place is way better.0 -
All of the above. What they air is not exactly what happens behind the scenes. Read the interviews of past contestants, they are scary and will make you lose a ton of respect for Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels.0

I refuse to support the unsafe BL practices.
They are creating people with eating disorders and all sorts of problematic weight loss techniques and America is just buying it up.0 -

I'm not. I saw a few former contestants speak a few months back and it made me feel sorry for them. Their relationship with food was so unhealthy. They let food get in the way of seeing family and friends. The guy hadn't gone home since his time on the show because he knew there would be unhealthy food there.0

Just went and read all that. Wow! I'm thankful that I didn't ever apply to get on the show. I'm thankful that I'm going slow and steady on losing all my weight. That just sounds down-right cruel.
FWIW, I wouldn't mind a personal chef that would cook healthy balanced meals for me.0 -

OMG that is awful0 -
But it also isn't real life. I could lose 7 lbs a week too if I could dedicate the number of hours they have in a day since they aren't working, or taking care of kids, or house, or yard... All the daily stuff isn't there to interfere. And in the long run they will have to make another adjustment when they return to reality.0

This explains a lot. Makes me glad I stopped watching years ago.0 -

Stunned. I never really cared for the show because I always felt there was something a bit off with it but wow...just...wow.0 -
Reality TV =/= Reality0

It's a freaking TV show!!! It's a crash diet. They lose way too fast and end up with so much loose skin they need a surgery afterwards. Of course, on TV they never warn you against the risk of the surgery.
Also, they don't learn to eat properly for the rest of their life. It's not sustainable. Most of the contestants gain the weight back after the show. Stop being jealous of them.0 -

SPEECHLESS0 -
In addition to what others have said, from the looks of your picture, you don't appear to have ever been as large as the people on Biggest Loser. People with a lot of weight to drop tend to lose weight much faster than someone with just a few pounds to lose. In addition, a lot of the contestants gain back their weight because they don't ever learn proper nutrition and develop a truly healthy lifestyle.

Its heartbreaking, because I used to be so inspired by the message behind the show. Keep pushing, move forward, you can do this, you can be healthy, etc. I still believe that I can do it, but I won't be using this show as my inspiration any longer.0
